[ilugd] Mozilla Unable to access internet
Hi ppl, I recently installed Red Hat Linux 8.1 . I am unable to access my internet. I have a DSL connection, that is through my LAN card. So, i configured an ethernet connection defining all d required ip settings and DNS settings. For testing, i even tried to ping my gateway. And luckily it is able to do that. But for some reason, i am unable to access my internet. When i open mozilla, it says, resolving www.google.com or any other site's name. After a few minutes, it flashes me a msg, unable to open the site's name. [ilugd] Some reco for software!!!
Hi.. Well i just got thru wid my mozilla (RH 8). I wanted to know if anyone knows of any stable softwares for the following( i am writing their ms windows equivalent) : 1 Download Accelerator Plus or Gozzila ( basically a good download manager) 2 yahoo/msn messenger 3. How do i run java applications in mozilla Pls suggest me any software that is stable on mozilla. [ilugd] Red Hat network authentication failure
Hi.. I was trying to update my redhat 8.0 linux . I also signed up with red hat on their site for the same. As i ran the updater, it gave me this error stating,username cannot be registered and then i tried up2date --registerwell in d end it said ssl error and certificate not verified. I need to update my system asap, because any rpm i download informs me of the missing rpms that it requires. Hello I downloaded this software called caitoo. It is basically a download manager. It was in rpm format and as i tried to install it,it listed some missing packages. I am enlisting them here. Please suggest me as to how to resolve this problem. Hey all... I was planning to install Linux on my systemi am quite confused as to which distro should i puti knw its totally as per vrybdy's choice but ive redhat,mandrake as my optionsand wht abt this fedora??? Hello...ppl First of all,I am new to this community, so ppl pls have d patience to tolerate me :) I am sure u must have seen dis msg trillions of times,but there u go,pls read thru it again. Well, i am new to Linux environment.I was able to install Linux,RH Linux 8.0 on my pc. But now, i am in no man's land, as in i have no ideas as to where to begin or what to do.I have been talking to a lot of ppl lately. They recommended me to be thorough wid the basic commands at first.So, i got this ebook, but believe me it is like huge, it has a three page index of commands and all of them have like multiple options...wow thats mindblowing. So could anybody suggest me something?? It would be of great help to dis brain waiting to be assimilated by Linux environment...hahhaLooking fwd to any kindof help...
