[ilugd] abt kernel 2.6.5 and 2.6.6
hi, i compiled my kernel 2.6.5 and 2.6.6 and having problem with my cdrom device. the kernel message at boot says mount fs not supported by the kernel even though it detects my hardware and i have included the support for the file formats on cdrom. hi, the /proc/filesystem is empty the prcompiled kernels that i had with my distro mandrake 2.4.25-2 and 2.6.3-4 and they are working fine. i did include the support for the file formats for the cd and other file systems.even it appears strange i have included support for both the ext3 file system and ext2 but at the bootup the message it wud mount the ext3 as ext2.this appears to be very strange and i suppose every linuxx user is very familiar with ext3 file format. all other things seem to work well barring these 2. [ilugd] help needed in debian install
hi, i installed the basic debian setup from first cd but got stuck up at a very foolish point. when we run tasksel as a root user then we need to select the packages to install can anybody tell me which keys are used to select the packages in debian as upto this point the GUI is not installed. hi, there is a downloader manager program in kde and many would be familiar with it with many advanced features.i am using kdenetwork-kget for downloading and have downloaded files as big as 700 mbs with it. but the only problem is that it works only with konqueror browser and not with other browesrs. [ilugd] debian linux cds i am totally confused
Hi, I downloaded the Debian Linux 3.02 but i am totally confused as to why there are so many cds there (totalling 8 as compared to generally 3 in others). Is it becuase that it has a lot more packages there or is it because the source code is included in it.the site http://www.debian.org seems to br blank on this issue too. If anybody is using it please clarify which are the cds i need to write(i dont need the source code).
