You don't need to download these files but the packages which contains these
files. There is no single package which contains all the required files

 Download the rpmforge-release rpm from the below link
http://dag.wieers.com/rpm/packages/rpmforge-release/

Once you download this link issue the below command

On Fedora box:   yum install vlc

It will install vlc on your system. (Kmenu -> Multimedia)

For XMMS


Click on the Kmenu and then on Multimedia.

use the command line to install.. move to the directory where you have your
vlc rpms then issue the command rpm -i *rpm if this doesnt work or try
adding --force after the command.. should work.. note that.. vlc rpm alone
is not sufficent.. it has numerous dependencies and u need to get all of
those rpms for it to work correctly..

Error while installing VLC.

I try to install vlc media player that is (vlc-core-0.8.6e-1.lvn8.i386.rpm)
My Os is Fedora 8 (KDE). That is installed from a live cd downloaded
myself from fedora official site.
This is installed on my home pc, unfortunately i dont have an
internet connection at home.

Sys Configuration:
P3
128 mb ram. (when i installed fedora, the ram in my pc is more than 300 mb)
80 gb hdd
chipset board.

The following Error Message Show When I try to install. VLC.
