Re: [ilugd] Inventory Management Software
My requirement is that I should be able to maintain Database of the HW inventory(CPU, RAM, S.NO. monitor size, etc. etc.) along with its history of changes, so that I can extract report on need basis. You must try ocsinventory. (http://www.ocsinventory-ng.org/). They are using it here in the company I work for, with more than 1500 desktops, it's been a success so far. Though a vanilla install will suffice, it stores all the client data in a database that you can use to develop things to meet your requirements. ___ Ilugd mailing list Ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd

My requirement is that I should be able to maintain Database of the HW inventory(CPU, RAM, S.NO. monitor size, etc. etc.) along with its history of changes, so that I can extract report on need basis. I am exploring OTRS::ITSM for that, however I would like to know if there is any equivalent/ better software for the same. regards, amit The INTERNET now has a personality. YOURS! See your Yahoo! There's an online demo if you want to try it out too. aptitude install glpi regards PJ ___ Ilugd mailing list Ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org http://frodo.hserus.net/mailman/listinfo/ilugd
