This is a modified version of a tutorial at pen-drive-linux.com. The tutorial assumes that you are upgrading from a local hard drive installation of Debian Etch (This will not work on a compressed file-system )
Upgrading from Etch to Lenny: Replace all occurrences of the string 'etch' with 'lenny' in the file /etc/apt/sources.list. Then type apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade at the shell and follow the instructions if any. If you have synaptic then it should be simpler. Best A. Mani -- A. Mani Member, Cal. Math.
