tata indicom supports linux, jus editing d wvdialconf would do d trick, but tata indicom is noway close to broadband...It can jus open webpages.. Isn't it possible to connect two USB modems and aggregate their bandwidths. Considering a single CDMA modem can provide speeds of upto 144kbps, theoretically aggregate bandwidth should peak at 288 kbps? And if both modems are from same service provider, their next hop / gateway should be the same, which I think is a pre-requisite for bandwidth aggregation. Tata Indicom/Reliance Connections provide sub dial-up speeds. Not recommended since you mentioned you're looking for Broadband. Try Reliance's Wimax. I have used Tata Indicomm connection using a PCIMCIA card in the past, though it maps to a ttyUSB eventually. The card works good, and without problems, you just need to know the default settings of connections, such as the number to dial, the username and password. It definitely works better than a 56K dial-up. As for speed, I have experienced upto 120 kilo bits per sec, when they claim the max being 155. It has got an antenna, just like a 14 LCD, and has a wire which connects to the PC(router actually). The antenna needs special alignment with the tower that is done by the installation person. So you cannot take it anywhere. Rest look for data cards. They are compatible with linux with some hue and tricks. They are detected as cdc_acm device and can be configured to dial to the ISP.
