Re: how can I download some win rar files on my Mac
Stuffit Expander (http://www.stuffit.com/mac-expander.html) works just fine for me on .rar files, including segmented .rar's. A free version is available. time warp computer lab of iMac G3s
I just wanted to share my pet project with anyone who would understand how cool I feel it is. I have NO budget for computers as I am an elementary school art teacher in an economically stressed city, but luckily my room is next to the town warehouse so I have a shot at spotting discarded equipment from other schools. I actually broke down and bought a Flower Power off Ebay with my own money last month because I could not resist :-) My software is time warp as well so all this works just fine. Kids love looking inside the case when they notice they can... Here is my lab, each G3 has a name so I can tell a child to go use Sunny, etc. I am still getting it in shape (with the help of the town IT team when I am out of my depth). https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AvP6lCScTDdOdFZqb3ZsZ09teWt2UHNKTGYzTEdfVlEhl=enauthkey=CIPWheIJ Like I said, it is a pleasure to be able to share my enthusiasm for iMac G3s! onwards and upwards, Emma -- You received this message because you are a member of the iMac Group, a group for those using Apple iMacs and eMacs. iMac G3 as an external monitor?
I was wondering if I could use my iMac 333's monitor as an external monitor since it uses a DB-15 connector. -- You received this message because you are a member of the iMac Group, a group for those using Apple iMacs and eMacs. Re: iMac G4 trouble
I had the same problem! What I had to do was plug it into my MacBook Pro using Target Disk mode. From there I created 2 partitions. One was a small partition (4 gigs) and the other was the remainder of free space. From there I installed 10.4 and it worked from there. I have yet to find out a way to erase a partition :( Cameron Sent from my iPhone On Jul 29, 2010, at 9:18 AM, Alex Barnes kab...@gmail.com wrote: This iMac's problems started when coffee was spilled on the computer. So, we sent it to someone to get it fixed. After that it worked fine for about 1 year until the computer stopped booting. So, I wiped the HDD and tried to put a clean install of 10.1 on it but the HDD didn't want to take the install. I plugged it into my iMac 333 and I noticed that the drive was showing up as a 31.3 GB HDD even though it's an 80 GB HDD. After going to ebay and buying a new HDD I found out that the iMac would only boot onto a disk (Debian, Mac OS) with to old HDD and NONE of my computers (iMac 333, 13 MBP, iMac Core Duo) will recognize the new HDD! Re: time warp computer lab of iMac G3s
I also have an appreciation for G3 iMacs. Yours would all perform better with more memory, maybe some list users can donate some for your lab...
