does a g4 imac 20 need bigger power supply?

2010-11-13 Thread steve
hello all:
I acquired a 20 screen and Mobo for a G4 Imac and swapped it out on
my 17 inch (1.25 ghz) frame. Put everything back together correctly (I
believe) but I cannot get it to turn on. I saw that the 20 required
190 watts and the 17 required 170 watts. Sooo, does that mean the
power supply apparatus needs to be swapped out as well? or should I
have expected some ding, bong or other indices to let me know it is
hooked up right? I just want to make sure I am chasing down the
correct rabbit hole before I proceed.
Many thanks to my more learned brethren,

Steve

I downloaded several other .dmg files as a test and they all mount.

Any one else with that problem with the Apple Combo today ?

How do get it to mount ?

Found nothing in Apple's Support pages, but there is mention of using
Safe Mode here:

On second thought, instead of messing around with Safe Mode, I'll just
wait a week or two for Apple to fix the package and try then.
