I know this computer is very old (snowball), but I just need one for my
autistic grandson to use in his room. I just wanted to get him on-line and
off my computer watching Barney. So, I started installing updates to get to
Mac OS X 10.4.11 and use TenForFox, or at least try to get him on Youtube.
Everything went well until the 10.4.3 update, then black screen and cursor
only after start-up. I had previously used the 10.4.2 combo update. Tried
to start in "safe mode" but things got worse. Now it won't complete the
boot and just shuts down. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I feel
like I really got close and I just don't want to give up just yet. Any
ideas?
