My 04 e-mac makes a loud repetitive warning gong. My password won't load, it's crowded out by a phantom password.

2019-05-17 Thread Dave Sheppard
As above. I am running Panther to utilize files I have going back to the
90's. I also use Pagemaker for file creation and modification in classic
mode.

Installing classic on Tiger o/s 10.6.8 on an o4 E-mac

2015-05-28 Thread Dave Sheppard
I'm attempting to install o/s 9 on this e-mac but it keeps coming up "cannot
find an os 9 system folder. Well duh! I'm trying to install one! I need to run
classic as I have many files created in classic soft ware as late as o/s 9.2.
I have install cd's for o/s 9, os 9.1update but I don't have the original Tiger
disc as this was a used computer. What am I doing wrong?
 Can somebody enlighten me?

I just bought a 2004 Emac at a bargain; however I can't set myself as the
administrator because O/S 10 tiger won't let me do that without the
administrator's password, Not available!
Any body know how to delete the old a/c and set myself as the admin. without
trashing everything and reinstalling? I have the procedure for Panther but it
won't work on Tiger.

Re: 2001 iMac. Is this machine still useful?

2015-04-09 Thread Dave Sheppard
This imac will run Mac OS 10 Pantber; It may run Tiger as well. However
neither OS will run the newer versions of Flash playerd, so graphics are slow
or impossible to load. These programs are readily available from Low end mac
and several other stores specializing in older Macs.

Good Luck

Re: Needed - Head phone jack for iMac G3 slot loader

2012-09-03 Thread Dave Sheppard
Hey Doug,
Yeah, I have 3 of these, but they are still in the Imacs. I can remove one I
guess, but as the computers won't boot for a variety of reasons, I am unable to
tell if they are working. Do u want me to remove one and (Mail?) it to you?

reconfiguring panther

2011-04-04 Thread Dave Sheppard
I recently acquired several G3 I-Mac's, and all are running Panther o/s. I
need to modify them to reflect my personal parameters, but the system keeps
asking me for user (administrator) name and password. It also keeps warning me
that the disk is "almost full and that i need to delete files to free up
space.
I can't even send e-mail until the administrator allows changes, but alas- no
password. Anybody know any way around this with out wiping the whole system and
reinstalling Panther ( which i bought but it came on DVD which I can't run -
CD's only).
