Dan has the winner. Get the external HD, clone both your machines at
least every week, and offer to clone your sweetie's machine too.

I'm going to take the middle ground between Jay and Dan, my suggestion
would be to upgrade the 1.83 GHz iMac to 2 GB RAM and take your sweetie
out to dinner. Not necessarily in that order. ;-)

An external HD for backups & pay for some shareware.

Or take your sweetie out for a nice dinner.

For ease, I think you could afford an upgrade from 2 too 4gb and 1 too 2gb.

Well, that's what I would do.

Ideas for upgrading?

2010-12-21 Thread Bill Spencer
Hi there: A group I am associated with (very part-time) has given me
an unexpected Christmas present of $100, and before it burns too big a
hole in my pocket I'd like to solicit suggestions for what I could
upgrade in either of the two machines listed below (the second one
already has a 250GB external HD, FYI), or to the reasonably reliable
Personal LaserWriter 12/640 PS that somehow keeps chugging along,
rather like my '94 Civic. Or maybe there's some other item to
consider.

As usual, my thanks in advance!
