I’m probably stepping into an on-going conversation, but it sounds like you have some “adware” on your computer. This happened to me recently. I clicked on a link by mistake and before I could count to 3, I had popup ads on my screen. I recommend you consider installing and running AdMedic: http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php. It is shareware and well a donation.
