Dear friends, please help with ID.

I find Nidhan ji's suggestion (in facebook) of *Alysicarpus* a very good
possibility.
This plant is a small bushy shrub about 6 feet high; the flowers measure
about 20 mm across.

The place is Gudampara near Chinnakanal, Munnar, elevation about 1500m asl.

Yes could be Syngonium pododophyllum only which has juvenile simple leaves
and cleft to palmately compound older leaves. But then S. neglectum and
angustatum also seem to be candidates

Re: [efloraofindia:195550] Vigna luteola (Jacq.) Benth.SN july 16

2014-08-03 Thread surajit koley
*Vigna mungo* and allied -

   -

http://www.gene.affrc.go.jp/databases-plant_images_detail_en.php?plno=5420610035

Stems and pods beset with tomentum :- pods are hairy in the attached
photographs; but not sure of stem, probably not hispid.

--

   - Vigna luteola (Jacq.) Benth. = acepted name =
   http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/ild-3509
   - Vigna luteola auct. non Benth. = syn. of *Vigna marina* (Burm.) Merr.
   =

http://www.ildis.org/LegumeWeb?version~10.01&LegumeWeb&tno~2233&genus~Vigna&species~luteola
   - difference of above two can be found =
   http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=134572#KEY-1-5

I think maybe possible.

   - *Vigna vexillata* (L.) A.Rich. = accepted name =

   - *Vigna vexillata* var. *wightii* (Bedd.) Babu & S.K.Sharma = accepted

   - *Vigna vexillata* var. *angustifolia* (Schum. & Thonn.) Baker =
   accepted = http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/ild-43175?ref=tpl1
   - difference amongst *luteola*, *marina* and *vexillata* can be found =
   http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=134572#KEY-1-2

*Vigna vexillata* (L.) A.Rich is synonym of *Vigna hirta *Hook
.,
has yellow-green flowers (see also
FoP and
FoC ).

So, I think flower colour is not decisive factor and it can be *V.
vexillata* (L.) A. Rich as well or likely!!!

Thank you
