 Saw this small orchid en route VOF from Ghangaria, Uttarakhand in Aug
 2018.

 This was growing very close to Androcorys josephii

awe, well,  nowadays time is a luxury, enjoying it while it lasts.
thank you for appreciating my inputs, i really like to help.

and special thanks this month to Shrikant, Tabish and Pankaj, Anil,
Prashant
and yourself Gargji,  for intellectual collegiality.

Debjit and Alka were very positive, and Saroj ji with lots of houseplants
that he
brought back from Hong kong exhibits, brought up memories of plants loved
and lost over the years.

And Tapasda with his succinct replies he says so much.
this month we learned about the starts of  the eFloras , who helmed them
and such information
i hope to learn about such histories more from Tapasda.
it would be interesting to write up the histories of the process.

And Bimalda with his symbiosis collages, makes us that much richer.

Dear members,
Sh. Saroj Kumar Kasaju is the Most Interactive Person of last
month (with 490 messages) with his beautiful uploads & interactions. His
postings are mainly from Nepal (areas still deficient in efi), Himalayan
region of West Bengal, Ladakh etc. including many new additions to efi.
However, he concentrated on Hong Kong in this month along with Pankaj ji.
There were lot of new additions  as lot of species captured there, are
also having distribution in India.
Quality of his uploads is also wonderful showing almost all aspects of a
plant with high resolution images, along with superb photography and close
up details. He has a great knowledge as far as flora of Nepal & Himalayan
region is concerned. He has also started helping other members in their
identifications.
He continued to mesmerise us this month also (like since July'16), for
which he has been consistently becoming Most Interactive Person every month.
He is also one of ours Pillars

and among top 10 all time posters

This particular area was very rich w.r.t. diversity. I tried hard to find 
any more orchids but :(
I think we went too late in the season - last week of August, hence could 
not find any more specimens.

Well, *Glochidion *J.R. Forst. & G.Forst. is a distinct genus of the family
Phyllanthaceae as per the current usage and it is closely related to
*Phyllanthus
*L., differing in the absence of the disc glands in the flowers.  There
have been proposals to merge the genera *Glochidion, Sauropus *and *Breynia
*under *Phyllanthus. *However, it has also be suggested that if such a
merger is done, *Phyllanthus *will become a mega-genus and the situation
will then become highly complicated from the taxonomic point of view.
Unless further studies are made leading on to more convincing
interpretations, it seems appropriate to treat *Glochidion *as a distinct
genus for the present.  Hence the species under consideration here should
be maintained under the genus *Glochidion *as the disc glands are absent in
the flowers.

required by Dr. S.L. Kochhar Sir for his forthcoming book. He is also a

judging from the symmetrical (almost) ovoid shape it seems even though its
is a tight urabn environment
it may yet become a specimen tree.
unless something seem to have prompted some limb cutting, hope they stop at
that. (left side in 2nd pic. )
is this in Simla too?

now wait for a shower of seeds
fun to photograph them
and try and grow them
can you save some for me if its in your neighborhood?

good luck since its an annual, and its like weed once established, you may
yet find it in undisturbed areas, like old abandoned yards, plots were
owner has not built houses yet etc.
