   Never knew about this character of* Cucumis maderaspatanus. *The leaves
in my plant are almost stalkless, and the inflorescence is so hairy. I only
knew this plant through Dinesh's pics: :-)

There used to be a stretch of road in Surat , about one km , on side of it
this species was growing . Now for 3 yrs not seen a single plant . All gone
in name of development . This was the only spot in about 70 kms .

My personal favorite Rungia repens too has changed name and it appears
in more than one species page !
Similarly , Rungia pectinata and Rungia parviflora I am unable to make
a call whether a particular specimen in field is former or latter !

Recently I had been to Baroda . Within City limits , I saw this plant
thriving . Again I noticed , many variations of leaf shape , size and
''teeth'' on same branch .
I think it is environmental triggers that lead to formation of different
types of leaf , as the branch keeps growing .  Keeping an all inclusive
single entity is the right thing Authors did .

There were no flowers / fruits at this time.
