Re: [efloraofindia:85795] Koenigia nepalensis (Polygonum filicaule)_RKC_04102011
Sir, I could not get you point! Would you please elaborate? I checked Fl. Pakistan too.. http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=5&taxon_id=242100084 Waiting to hear from you. Regards, Ritesh.
Re: [efloraofindia:85803] Koenigia nepalensis (Polygonum filicaule)_RKC_04102011
Thank you sir! Considering Hedberg's work (1997) on Koenigia (cant attach the PDF here due to big file size), I think the genus deserves a separate status and I would be happy to follow K. nepalensis as an accepted name. Moreover, I am not comfortable with the mixing of Persicaria and Polygonum in Fl. China. Rather, Fl. Pakistan's treatment is justifiable and is in line with the molecular studies carried out by Kim & Donghue (2008) and others. Hope to hear from you. Regards, Ritesh.

Re: [efloraofindia:89699] Re: Flora of Chakrata: Ipomoea hederifolia near Kalsi on Kalsi Chakrata Road
And interestinglyFlora of Korea reports I. hederifolia as the cultivated species in Korea. There is no mention of I. coccina or I. rubriflora. Another Korean weed-flora mentions I. cholulensis with the photo of similar looking plant. The above fotos were taken at Daejeon, S. Korea. Regards, Ritesh.

Re: [efloraofindia:89978] Re: Flora of Chakrata: Ipomoea hederifolia near Kalsi on Kalsi Chakrata Road
Dear Gurucharn sir, Photographs of I. hederifolia L. shared by Mani ji in the following thread clearly shows lobed leaves and scarlet flowers without yellow throat. This helped me to clear my doubt. http://groups.google.com/group/indiantreepix/browse_thread/thread/fc8a68a7f9a6a52f I am really thankful to you for providing a nice key that helped me to understand these plants. Now I can confirm my plant as I. rubriflora O'Donell (=I. coccinea L.). I would also like to refer a paper that proves these taxa distinct based on molecular data. Here is the link : http://www.amjbot.org/content/91/8/1208.short Unfortunately, ambiguity can still be seen in 'Tropicos' that treats I. hederifolia L. as the accepted name for I. coccinea L. Best regards, Ritesh.
