Visual Basic and case IN-sensivity ;)
Sorry if my explanation to the problem was a bit in-accurate. Yes, VB is not case sensitive, and the IDE helps (or screws it up) by changing the case on the identifiers in the files to make it look tidy. I was just wondering if there was a way to make CVS ignore the case when finding changes to the files. (cvs diff actually has a -i option) The temporary solution is to make the programmers do a cvs diff, before updating and committing. They will then see the lines that only has the case changed. Re: SSH and WinCVS
Is it the case that 2 different users cannot share a sandbox? Do you mean use the same physical directories? Not a good idea. CVS is designed to be used in parallel. I can't imagine sharing sandboxes, even if it's not simultaneous access. If I try working with ... changes to a local copy checked out by another user, things don't work. The username is stored in the CVS metadata. That would explain things. When CVS tries to do an operation, it fires up ssh, uses the username stored in the CVS metadata, tries to use your private key, and boom! Your buns have been fried. No login. It's really late here (after 4am) so my brain may not be processing things correctly right now. But it sounds right to the degree that I'm functioning correctly. -- The less government we have the better--the fewer laws and the less confided power - Ralph Waldo Emerson ___ Info-cvs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-cvs
DLL file
Hi, I'm looking to evaluate CVS and, after downloading the appropriate file from cvsgui.org, I proceeded with the set up. After set up was complete I attempted to invoke cvs from my start menu but, after selecting it, I received a message stating 'a required .DLL file, MFC42.DLL was not found'. Is this file included in the download and, if so, is it within any of the 3 zip files _sys1.cab, _user1.cab, or data1.cab? Many thanks for your help. Regards. What is going on?? You're branching individual files, rather than the whole directory. So now you have a directory that has some files in the branch, and some on the trunk. When you do the update in the existing sandbox, you greatly confuse CVS. When you do the checkout, you only get the files that are actually tagged with the branch tag, and thus the other files are removed. Basically, the answer is don't do that. Branch the whole module. David D writes: You'll get a warning message for files that are still present. cvsignore-ing everything but .cvsignore
Part of the tree of web files I'm working on contains a subdirectory structure full of arbitrarily-named files uploaded by users. When someone checks out the module, I would like this folder to be created, but empty. On subsequent updates I'd like to ignore all of the files in each directory, since they will never belong in the repository. I'm trying to solve this with a .cvsignore. My problem is that I don't know if there's a way to cvsignore all files *except* the .cvsignore file within each directory. Unless there's a better way to handle this altogether. Let me know if I've explained this badly. -- Jack Baty Fusionary Media - http://www.fusionary.com/ ___ Info-cvs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-cvs
