CVS_RSH w/ pserver
We've switched from NFS CVS access to pserver and just realized that setting CVS_RSH to ssh is only meaningful for :ext, not :pserver. Before I dive into SSH, does anyone know a way to encrypt pserver traffic? Thanks, Frank -- Frank Gilmurray Release Engineer Nokia, Inc. phone: (650) 625-2179 313 Fairchild Drive, Blgd. pserver templates
We're switching to pserver but one of our developers is having problems committing changes from the top level. I realize that Template is copied to the CVS directory in each subdirectory and commits in those directories work fine. I set TopLevelAdmin=yes in CVSROOT/config but the CVS directory created there doesn't contain a Template file. I suggested he cd one level down and do his commits there. Am I missing something? Is there a way this user can commit from the top level and use our template? Two CVS questions
Our CVS repository lives on a Network Appliance F840 (running 6.1R1) and we access it via NFS v2. Occasionally we get errors like the following: Checking in design_review.tex; /sweng/CVS/src/doc/design_review.tex,v -- design_review.tex new revision: 1.6; previous revision: 1.5 cvs [commit aborted]: cannot rename file /sweng/CVS/src/doc/,design_review.tex, to /sweng/CVS/src/doc/design_review.tex,v: Permission denied I say occasionally because the error is not reproducible. The above commit worked fine another system. I'm almost sure this is a NetApp problem because I can simulate the rename() problem using mv in the same directory. My questions are: o Has anyone else seen these 'Permission denied' errors on any NFS mounted repository? o Has anyone changed the CVS rename() to something like copy/delete or is there some other work-around?
