RE: connection reset by peer
Hi, How do I check the CPS (connections per second) parameter setting for inetd? We are facing this problem on the same machine after every few days! We are unable to understand why the problem re-occurs on the same machine, although there are a lot many other machines on the network that connect to the CVS Server. Can anybody, help us with these queries? The upgrade did not mess with any files. We are also using :pserver: to connect to the server. You might try telnet peterpan.dev.net 2401 and see if you are getting connected. If that does look okay, then you probably want to peek at the network traffic setenv CVS_CLIENT_LOG $HOME/cvs-client.log cvs version then look at $HOME/cvs-client.log.in and $HOME/cvs-client.log.out to see what is happening. No, but there are permission that IS setup in this server, so only some machine access to cvs repository, If I run from my machine: D:\ch08rsh myhost date Thu Feb 14 17:26:21 CST 2002 So that indicate that the rsh is correct setup, but I don't know what's is the deal with cvs. thanks for advice. Zanabria, Moises writes: - Recv failed:Connection reset by peer cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any) As I just told someone else, a connection reset means the server accepted the connect but then closed it. Usually that means that inetd was unable to start the CVS server (usually because the command line in /etc/inetd.conf has the wrong path to cvs), but it can also be caused by firewalls, routers, tcpd, and other access-control mechanisms. -Larry Jones At times like these, all Mom can think of is how long she was in labor with me. -- Calvin ___ Info-cvs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-cvs
