su cyrus
./reconstruct user.

2)

Please help with user problem

2002-03-25 Thread Richmond Dyes

I am using Redhat 7.1 running cyrus 2.0.9 with Postfix. I dame a
mistake and deleted a user's directory and can't get it off a backup.
When I go into cyradm and try to set my ACl list to c so I can delete
the user, it gives me an I/O error. When I just try to delete it using
the dm command, it gives me a permission denied error. I made a
directory of the user's name in my user partition hoping it would get
rid of the I/O error but that didn't work. Anyone know how I can get
rid of this error so I can delete this user and then rebuild him?

We've improved the stuff we use locally (which is pretty much what we
released as cyrus-graphtools) and I should tar it up and give it out.

I've put a tarball at
http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/~leg/hammer-1.0.tar.gz

It's very rough. I'll put it on the ftp site if I get some feedback
that it's at all useful or (even better) someone to volunteer to clean
it up so it's not quite so unfinished.

thanks,
Larry

Kinda. One thing I discovered is that it is reporting the current
number of active sessions and the total number of *forks*. In one
of the numerous hacks of this I've got running (learning rrdtool), I
got it to report the number of active sessions and the number of
connections. I've got to cleanup my mess, though.

Re: no .seen .sub files created

HI
have you created the [A-Z] subdirs in /var/imap/user ?
it seems that tools/mkimap creates only [a-z] unused subdirs
(you can change the 'foreach' on lines 109,112,126,138 of mkimap)

Reconstruct error PLEASE HELP!!!

2002-03-25 Thread Richmond Dyes

I am running a redhat 7.1 server with cyrus 2.0.9 run on Posxtfix. I
made a mistake and wiped out a user directory. I cannot recover it from
my backup tapes. I went to run reconstruct and I got the error

reconstruct: cyrusdb_db3.c:150: done: Assertion `dbinit' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)
does anyone have any idea what is causing this error and what I can do
to fix it?

IMAPS/POP3S not configured/working in cyrus-imapd 2.0.16/RH 7.2

2002-03-25 Thread Jonathan Marsden

I'm attempting to deploy cyrus-imapd on a Red Hat 7.2 machine (single
Athlon XP, 512MB RAM, RAID-1 IDE disks). I have use cyrus-imapd
before, but not the SSL (pop3s/imaps) implementation.

I'm finding that if I install from the RPMs by Ramiro Morales
(cyrus-imapd-2.0.16-5rm from
http://rmorales.modwest.com/rpms/cyrus-imapd/ ) and recompile them
from the SRPM, things work fine, EXCEPT that connections to the pop3s
and imaps ports connect and then do nothing. Connecting to these
ports using the command

openssl s_client -connect localhost:995 -status -debug

generates:

  CONNECTED(0003)
  SSL_connect:before/connect initialization
  write to 0814D810 [0814D858] (124 bytes => 124 (0x7C))

  SSL_connect:SSLv2/v3 write client hello A

and then sits there. The TCP connection stays open, but no data is
received across it from the server. The SSL tunnel is never
initialized.

Connections to the non-SSL pop3 and imap ports work fine. Using the
cyrus-imapd-2.0.16-4 RPMs from

I note that the difference in the way the servers are called
(specified in /etc/cyrus.conf) is the -s option. Running them by hand
generates the probably highly relevant error message:

  06:59:47 jonathan@test:~$ /usr/cyrus/bin/imapd -s
  /usr/cyrus/bin/imapd: invalid option -- s

Playing a little with gdb suggests that getopt is being called with an
options string of "C:", though in imap/imapd.c the code seems to read:

  while ((opt = getopt(argc, argv, "C:sp:")) != EOF) {

What further tests or changes to my configuration should I make I make
in order to get pop3 and imap over SSL working for this platform? I'd
prefer not to update to Cyrus 2.1.x just yet, because of the SASLv2
requirement.

I suspect I may have just missed something obvious...?

Thanks in advance!

unknown password verifier saslauthd

2002-03-25 Thread Paul Christie

I am testing cyrus-sasl-2.1.1 and cyrus-imapd-2.1.3. Plugins are plain,
anonymous, kerberos4. on Solaris 2.6.

Have build sasl --with-saslauthd
In imapd.conf I have set sasl_pwcheck_method: saslauthd
have run saslauthd -a kerberos4 and run testsaslauthd with success.

However 'imtest -m login localhost' fails logging the message 'unknown
password verifier saslauthd'. What have I missed?
