Got it figured out. All my NNN. files lost the "." at the end of the file
for some or other reason. Simply rename the existing NNN to NNN. and then
doing a reconstruct it works.

Re: constant cyrus failures with DBERROR db4

2005-09-16 Thread Rui Gouveia
Hi,

I've followed this thread with plenty of interest, because we've had the
same problem for quiet some time. Since we have "upgraded" from FC? to
RHAS3 a year ago.

As recommended by You, we switched to the skiplist format, one weak ago.
You asked to be informed of the changes. Here they are: Since the change
we haven't got a single failure in the Cyrus server. :)

Only a week has passed, but we usually had, in average, 3 to 5 failures
a day.

Thank You very much.

You have not mailbox _zorkzork.pl created.

Use cyradm utility.

I thought so, but when I call deliver manually I got same result.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~]# /usr/lib/cyrus/deliver -e -r [EMAIL PROTECTED] -m
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: Mailbox does not exist

I am pretty sure that postfix is not adding it.

When I create mailbox in cyrus without prepending it with "user." then
"deliver" finds this mailbox but says "permissin denied":

[EMAIL PROTECTED] zork]# cyradm localhost
Password:
localhost> cm [EMAIL PROTECTED]
localhost> sam [EMAIL PROTECTED] root c
localhost> lm
[EMAIL PROTECTED] (\HasNoChildren) [EMAIL PROTECTED] (\HasNoChildren)
localhost> quit

[EMAIL PROTECTED] zork]# /usr/lib/cyrus/deliver -e -r [EMAIL PROTECTED] -m
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
[EMAIL PROTECTED]: Permission denied

It looks like some problem with prepending mailboxes with "user." ?

Łukasz

You're getting this because the SQL SASL plugin is installed but not

This is a Postfix-Question. Wild guess, you have configured Postfix to only
show the AUTH-Headers in a TLS-Session. Check your Config.

4G of ECC with no log of error, I dont think that in this case the
RAM is the guilty.

Other factor: this corruptions appeared with the volume of use,
this smells 'race' badly.

Example of the simptom:
Sep 15 21:17:14 mupdate mupdate[1608]: DBERROR: skiplist recovery
/var/lib/imap/mailboxes.db: 14D67FD8 should be ADD or DELETE

When this happens mupdate get tired of create threads to the
point of 'cant create another thread'.

Whe are using CentOS 3.0 (if kernel/glibc/library versions
can mean something).

(Our backends are CentOS 4.1 64 bits, our mupdate is
CentOS 3.0 32 bits).

Any more relevant infos?

The server I wrote about is a small one. Here's the details.

# cat /etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 5)

# uname -r
2.4.21-32.0.1.EL

RAM: 3 GBytes

CPU: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.06GHz

duplicate checking is eliminating all (most of?) my messages

2005-09-16 Thread Ross Boylan
[list/webmaster: please see the P.S. below]

It appears that cyrus is treating all messages as duplicates, even ones
that it has not seen. So I'm not getting any mail. Can anyone help?

I'm on Debian running cyrus21-imapd 2.1.18-1. Messages are being
delivered over lmtp via exim4, and I have a local .sieve filter in
place. The messages are being delivered in big groups, as I am pulling
them in from a server.
So: IMAP server (not cyrus) -> fetchmail in batches of 10
-> exim4 -> cyrus via lmtp
exim runs the message through a spamassassins spamd demon on receipt,
i.e., before delivery to cyrus.

My mail is a mess because of some network changes, and I have been
running repeated tests, which have caused many legitimate duplicate mail
eliminations. This new behavior (treating everything, or nearly
everything, as a duplicate) seems to have kicked in during a delivery of
200 messages, the first 10-20 of which were probably legitimate
duplicates.

I have since sent a single test message; it went through OK.

P.S. The wiki directed me to a majordomo list; it would be good if
somebody updated
http://acs-wiki.andrew.cmu.edu/twiki/bin/view/Cyrus/CyrusMailingLists.

Typical log entry.

It may be relevant that delivery.db is about 1.1 Mg.
ctl_deliver says there are 1102 messages.
