Re: competition

2010-09-21 Thread Claus
Hi,

 [...]
The new web site is a good start.
We should start a best practice section in the wiki.
 - How do I install Cyrus on Debian/Ubuntu/...?
 - From single server to multi server?
 - How to start with partitions and why?
 - Where to get latest releases (rpm/deb) when is not in my
distriburtion (simon matter etc.)?

I think this may also be a problem: Where to get up to date packages?

In Debian they are still on Version 2.2.13. And Ubuntu probably also. And as
Squeeze will be finished sooner or later, they will still have the 2.2.13
packages in their repositories.

Having a repository with the latest 2.3 and then the 2.4 cyrus versions would
be a good thing.

This helps in getting a working cyrus server for not only newbie users.

But I know that keeping a seperate repository is quite a lot of work.

Best regards,

Claus

We've installed cyrus imapd 2.1.17 on a 4-node Veritas cluster and we're

We noticed that all of the lmtpd processes are just sitting in a blocking
fcntl() call waiting for a lock on /var/imap/socket/lmtp.lock. When we
run this in a clustered environment, each lmtpd is consuming CPU
resources

while blocking. In a non-clustered ufs environment they do not.

Is there any reason that the lmtpd processes need to be serialized across
different nodes in a cluster? If not, we'll just write these lock files
to local ufs space on each cluster node.

i assume each node has its own address, and therefore you want the lmtp
locks to be per-node.

While I'm on the subject, what is the purpose of
/var/imap/socket/imap.lock?

which imapd gets to accept(). same deal, different daemon. it's all done
in master's service routines.

Re: Conversion from UW to Cyrus _and_ keeping IMAP flags?

2005-03-16 Thread claus westerkamp
Hello Alan,
this is exactly my problem too. I managed to convert .seen db`s to
skiplist but for some reason cyrus doenst care.

I noticed different directory structures too but cannot find anything
about that.

Has anyone tried using a batch process (for speed) _and_ managed to keep
the flags?

I've not found anything on the web/wiki that indicates this. If I had
the flag data, how would I get this to Cyrus?

Thank you
