I have just encountered a problem with setting a large quota and it
appears that the
code must be using just 32 bit arithmetic!
I set a user to have a 10 gigabyte quota and the user was treated as
being
over-quota with just 10 megabytes. I presume there will be problems if I
set a
quote of over 2 gigabytes which is the 32 bit limit. Can anyone clarify
the
situation?
Which version of cyrus-imapd on which OS are you using?

i have installed the new cyrus on a new computer.
is this the correct procedure to migrate all info ?
1) tar the /var/spool/imap to the new locations.
2)  Convert mailboxes file to Berkeley DB:
    su cyrus
    cd /var/imap
    ctl_mboxlist -u
< mailboxes
    ctl_cyrusdb
-c
3) rehash the db?

2001-12-12 Thread Ronen Amity

you could also try Eudora.
i am using it for ages, and love the search capability.
also, it is free, and support multi users, pop/imap mime, and much much
more.
the only down size is the it has problems with outlook rtf (the default
way for outlook to send it messages).

Outlook Express v6 is pretty good. There are various options now to turn
off
JavaScript et al, and it's protocol support is OK (supports off-line
use,
supports SSL, supports S-MIME). It's not particularly well-behaved
though,
in that it opens a new connection for every folder that it synchronizes
:-(
Some people report good things about Mulberry, although I find it poor
in
the usability stakes.
Mozilla has a good IMAP client that works well under all platforms
that
Mozilla supports, including Windows.

Re: pine thinks my INBOX is empty? Anyone know if this is a common pr oblem with pine and cyrus?

2001-07-17 Thread ronen amity

in .pinerc that sits in your home dir look for folder-collection.
this is my setup (my imap server is named imapserver):

# List of directories where saved-message folders may be. First one is
# the default for Saves. Example: Main {host1}mail/[], Desktop mail\[]
# Syntax: optnl-label {optnl-imap-hostname}optnl-directory-path[]
folder-collections={imapserver}INBOX.[]

# List of folder pairs; the first indicates a folder to archive, and the
# second indicates the folder read messages in the first should
# be moved to.
incoming-archive-folders={imapserver}INBOX.[]

enjoy.

you can also set up any authontication that you want very easy.
