Jules,
if you know Perl then go the Perl route.

I found it relatively easy to write a Perl program which
calls the imapxfer program from the c_client utilities.
I use Expect to call imapxfer.


the main problem I am facing is that in our existing Netscape
server there are messages with bare newlines,
which imapxfer, correctly, won't handle.

I found a utility to export the SIMS database mailboxes to mbox 
format, so it looks like I can use Steve Snodgrass' user2cyrus script 
for my migration. Thanks!
