Re: Setting up a nnmbox server

If I go to the *Server* buffer, press `a' to create a new nnmbox server and then I open it with `O', no group is shown. The easiest way is to create a temporary nndoc group with G-f in group buffer. (Or for an ephemeral version use `G F' uppercase You will be prompted for a filename, where you input the full name of mbox file like ~/mbox Only if you really need a permanent folder... you would create a new server. Read the manual on that subject C-h i m gnus RET and scroll quite a ways down to Server Buffer Under the bigger heading: SERVER BUFFER [...] * Creating a Virtual Server:: An example session. Or just click on this if you are reading with gnus. (info (gnus)Creating a Virtual Server) You will notice you are lacking parts of the specification necessary. editing .newsrc.eld file
After renumbering my nnml articles (forgot the command in Gnus) in some folders, all the marks are now knackered. My mail.misc has articles numbered 1-60 whiles the newsrc.eld file has something like . 400 or so. which has resulted in not being able to see any mails at all in the mail folder. And so on for other folders. How do I fix this? What should I edit in the .newsrc.eld file? I also have some adaptive scoring files too, if it is of any relevance. sivaram -- ___ info-gnus-english mailing list info-gnus-english@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-gnus-english
Re: Continuing problems with marks in nnimap
John Sullivan j...@wjsullivan.net writes: I have mentioned before that unread articles are sometimes spontaneously being marked as O, causing them to disappear from my view and me to lose track of them. This is a really awful problem to have, but I have no idea how to reproduce it or debug it. The only thing I can do is mark all unread articles with !, which seems to successfully keep them around. But this is very undesirable, since I'd rather use ! for other meanings. I will go for a month without the problem happening, and then suddenly it will, wiping out my Inbox. And, it just happened again. Only this time it didn't mark *all* of the unread messages as O, just almost all of them -- it left 2 unread messages, which were very new. When it does happen, it happens when I exit a group as normal with q. -- John Sullivan Emacs Planner Maintainer http://wjsullivan.net/PlannerMode.html GPG Key: AE8600B6 ___ info-gnus-english mailing list info-gnus-english@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-gnus-english
