Gnus choosing to render text/html part of message
Hello. With gnus-ignored-mime-types set to text/html, the article buffer is still rendering the html part instead of text/plain part of messages with the 2 mime alternates. If there's a setting to make text/plain be preferred, I've not discovered it yet. GNus 5.9.0 tries opening HTML, but text/plain preferred
Hello, I'm a long time GNuser but confess to having not been deep into the docs for a while. This is GNus 5.9.0 on Fedora-4. Anyway, I see that my Gnus is opening the HTML part of messages that have alternative content types, and in cases where this is totally bogus MS Outlook HTML, the rendering fails and shows up as raw markup. Gnus manual refers to "The EMacs MIME Manual" for more info on how Gnus might handle automatic opening of MIME parts. I dont' find that manual here. Question; how would I tell Gnus to choose text/plain over text/html when doing inline rendering of message content? Thanks PS: Also curious that "customize group, Gnus MIME is empty of anything configureable? -- ----------- Jerry Sievers 305 854-3001 (home) WWW ECommerce Consultant 305 321-1144 (mobilehttp://www.JerrySievers.com/ ___ info-gnus-english mailing list info-gnus-english@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-gnus-english
Draft summery not in draft minor mode?
Hi. I rarely use drafts but just went to open and send one and noticed that the summary buffer for the drafts group fails to switch into draft minor mode. I can manually put it there by doing `gnus-draft-mode'. Another curiosity is that I have to load-library gnus-draft manually as well. Any idea what happened here and how to fix it? organization parameter not working in gnus-posting-styles
Hello. Any idea what would cause the organization parameter to not work in a gnus-posting-styles list as documented? (organization "some org") ; doesn't work I can get it into the message headers by treating it as a string parameter; ("Organization:" "some org") Other parms like signature, name, addressetc all behave as documented. message-default-headers
Hello; I am trying to get a few custom headers into mail message buffers from Gnus and thought I could set the message-default-headers variable in the group parameters to make it work. ((total-expire . t) (message-default-headers "Test-Header: foo")) Doesn't work though. Tried making the message-default-headers variable buffer local and also tried setting message-generate-headers-first to 't' to no avail. Please, what's wrong here? sendmail -f username
Hi. On Emacs 20.7; I am unable to figure out how to override the logged in username being put after the -f flag to sendmail for message sending. Would like to be able and set this to an arbitrary value. Supposing this is a customization option but if so, can't find it in there. Some groups only scanned with M-g?
Hi. Have no idea what happened here. NNTP groups don't scan the server unless I load ALL of them into the group buffer, cursor to top of buffer and then do M-u41M-g. This results in all 41 of the groups of various methods being scanned. Don't recall changing anything. NNML groups continue to work normally. Any idea what's causing this? -- ------- Jerry Sievers 305 854-3001 (home) WWW ECommerce Consultant 305 321-1144 (mobilehttp://www.JerrySievers.com/ ___ Info-gnus-english mailing list Info-gnus-english@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/info-gnus-english
Switch NNTP servers, not lose old params?
Hi. This is on Gnus 5.7 (sorry, long story). Please suggest how I sync up with a new nntp server without losing all my saved group parameters and other state in the .newsrc.eld file. I see that moving the .newsrc.eld file and starting Gnus with the new server, does a fine job having Gnus examine the active file and present me with all groups. All fine but this leaves me having to rebuild all group customization again. FWIW, I am not concerned with losing state on the nntp groups, only the mail groups. How can I get a new nnttp server in there without having to start from scratch all the way?
