To schools signed up for Microsoft's student/teacher purchasing program:

IEC Update: Microsoft Student/Teacher Purchases

The Iowa Educators Consortium website for students and teachers to purchase
Microsoft products (http://elms15.e-academy.com/iec) is now accepting
orders. Software CDs are still not available for Office 2007 and Vista.
Ordering options are listed below. Microsoft expects software to be
available shortly after it is released to retail stores.

Option One: A student or teacher wants to acquire Microsoft Office 2003
today.
You will be allowed to purchase the Office 2007 license and you will be sent
Office 2003 software. (The student or teacher acquires the Office 2007
license, which includes downgrade rights to Office 2003, and is supplied
with Office 2003 software.)

Option Two: A student or teacher wants to acquire Windows XP Professional
Upgrade today.
You will be allowed to purchase the Windows Vista Upgrade license and you
will be sent Windows XP Professional Upgrade software. (The student or
teacher acquires the Windows Vista license, which includes downgrade rights
to Windows XP Professional Upgrade, and is supplied with Windows XP
Professional Upgrade software.)

Option Three: A student or teacher wants to acquire Microsoft Office 2007.
Option 3A: If the student or teacher does not want Office 2003 today, they
can continue to check the website until Office 2007 software is available.
(Microsoft anticipates the software will be available at the IEC site
shortly after it is available at retail stores.)
Option 3B: If the student wants to acquire Office 2007, but wants to start
using Office 2003 right away, Microsoft will allow you to purchase the
Office 2007 license and you will be sent Office 2003 software. When the
software for Office 2007 becomes available, you will be able to purchase the
Office 2007 software only at the IEC website. (Estimated cost is
approximately $12.00.)

Option Four: A student or teacher wants to acquire Windows Vista Upgrade.
Option 4A: If the student or teacher does not want Windows XP Professional
Upgrade today, they can continue to check the website until Windows Vista
Upgrade software is available. (Microsoft anticipates the software will be
available at our site shortly after it is available at retail stores.)
Option 4B: If the student wants to acquire Windows Vista Upgrade, but wants
to start using Windows XP Professional Upgrade right away, Microsoft will
allow you to purchase the Windows Vista Upgrade license and you will be sent
Windows XP Professional Upgrade software. When the software for Office 2007
becomes available, you will be able to purchase the Windows Vista Upgrade
software only at the IEC website. (Estimated cost is approximately $12.00.)

Office 2004 Professional Mac and Office 2004 Standard Mac are available on
the website.

We apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced around the transition
to Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows Vista. If you have questions please

[info-tech] ICN problems

2006-11-28 Thread Harriet Adams

Hello,

The ICN line at Grant Wood AEA has been severed and could possibly be down for
several hours. Until this line is fixed there will be no access to the Iowa AEA
Online Web page.

In the meantime, you can go directly to each database until the Iowa AEA Online
web page is fully functional:
