[info-tech] IE8 issues...
Is anyone else having a strange issue where IE8 stops functioning as far as actually displaying a webpage? This also affects outlook. Removal and reinstall of IE8 seems to fix the issue. [info-tech] Fw: Webinar Reminder, May 4th - Aggregated School Agreement Benefits for the Iowa Schools
Webinar Reminder, May 4th - Aggregated School Agreement Benefits for the Iowa Schools Forwarded information from the IECHarriet Jerry Cochrane, Coordinator Iowa Educators Consortium 1120 33rd Avenue SW Cedar Rapids, IA 52404 Phone: 319-399-6741, (800) 798-9771, Ext. 6741 Fax: 319-399-6474 Email: jcochr...@gwaea.org IEC Website: www.iec-ia.org Webinar Reminder - May 4th Aggregated School Agreement Benefits for the Iowa Schools Please register below if you're interested! Date: Tuesday, May 4th 2:00-3:00pm CST Location: Online - Presented by Microsoft Register Now: https://www.livemeeting.com/lrs/microsoft1/Registration.aspx?pageName=t1xfhtmmrg2k1jfq Microsoft Aggregated School Agreement Meet both your current and future needs, provide additional value to your school and employees and save $$ at the same time. Traditionally, as a school in the state of Iowa, you are eligible to purchase Microsoft products through the Iowa Educators Consortium Select Agreement. With the Select Agreement schools own the software license for as long as they want to use the software. Larger schools can also participate in a School Agreement in which the schools license the software on a yearly basis at a reduced cost. However, for this year, the IEC and Microsoft have initiated a new Aggregated School Agreement that allows all Iowa schools to combine their School Agreement orders to better meet order minimums and provide every participant the highest discount available from Microsoft. Benefits are noted below. So, what is the School Agreement? The Microsoft School Agreement is a comprehensive, subscription-based Microsoft Volume Licensing program that provides a flexible, cost-effective way for education customers to license the latest Microsoft technologies. It offers streamlined administration, the convenience of a single annual payment and the tools to accelerate software deployment. Preschools, elementary schools, secondary schools, museums, public libraries and Boards of Education can all participate in this program. With the simplicity of counting computers just once per year, the School Agreement makes it easy for you to license all of your computers, whether in a single school or throughout the entire district. Each School Agreement includes the benefits of Software Assurance Membership (www.microsoft.com/education/license/howtobuy/agreements/softwareassurance.aspx) and one MSDN Academic Alliance membership (msdn.microsoft.com/academic/). School Agreement customers may choose to grant Work at Home rights (www.microsoft.com/education/license/manage/workathomerights.aspx) to faculty and staff. Benefits: a.. Easy compliance. Because all of your school's computers and users are covered throughout the subscription term, it's easy to ensure that your school is fully licensed for use of the products you've selected. b.. Low administration. Subscription licensing eliminates the need to track licenses for individual School Agreement licensed products on every computer. This is especially helpful for managing software assets in a decentralized environment. c.. Current technology. With subscription licensing programs, your users can run the most current version of the software products included in your agreement, and your institution automatically receives media for products that upgrade during your agreement term. d.. Simple budgeting and purchasing. One annual payment covers all of the School Agreement products you've selected for the year Here are a few examples of these significant pricing differences: Office Enterprise 2007 Open pricing: $77 Select pricing: $53 CA/SA pricing: $18 (level B) Windows 7 Professional Open pricing: $69 Select pricing: $59 promo thru 4/20 $43 CA/SA pricing: $14 (level B) Windows Server Enterprise 2008 Open pricing: $371 Select pricing: $271 CA/SA pricing: $121 (level B) We have a Live Meeting scheduled on May 4th reviewing these benefits. We are needing to install video surveillance in our middle/elementary school. What companies have been used by members of the list and would you recommend them? Thanks in advance. -- Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots.
