RE: [info-tech] lcd tv vs. projector

2008-05-28 Thread Diane Elbert
I have considered this for a long time - what are the negatives as I can
only see positives in by passing a projector that needs expensive bulbs. We
can get 42 flat panels with a big discount through a local vendor for about
$700.00.

I am thinking of buying 42 LCD televisions for a four or five of our
smaller classrooms this summer. It seems that for smaller rooms or class
sizes, the tv does everything the projector can do with less hassle? The
cost is not that much more any longer. Any thoughts?

Yes, I have thought about both of those issues. Currently, they all
have a 27 + tv on a cart now that would no longer be needed. so I
assume it would just take up the space used now. It would then become
more of a fixed display with cable tv, computer, dvd, vcr connected to
it with the ability to display photos from camera sd card, etc.

Brad,

The only issue I see with that is wall space. Most of the projectors we
have are pointed at the main whiteboard for projection. If you add a tv
you will obviously need wall space unless you are putting it on a cart
of some sort. If you’re going to do that, how does one strap a flat
screen to a cart? I have never looked into that.
