Mark, I would look at the share permissions. Sounds like you probably have things in the Security tab set right, but your share permissions are too restrictive. So, look at share permissions, not share security for the problem. Mitch, If it is happening on the same machine with 2 different disc, then it could be a faulty CD-ROM or DVD-ROM. Possibly memory issues. Ok. Well than it must have been my hard-drive. I switched that out and now I got vista to at least install. So I will finish that up and then try 7. I have it loaded on a PC at home. The only trouble I have had so far is trying to get ClearQAM channels on my tv tuner card using a vista MCE plugin. It is a Hauppauge card and the WinTV software that comes with it doesn't work either. Otherwise, it seems pretty sweet. It looks a lot like Vista. I've got it running under VirtualBox on my iMac. It runs great, and it's got some nice UI improvements over Vista. Still, seems to me this should be Vista SP2, since it's what Vista was supposed to be in the first place. Performance definitely looks promising. I have Vista on an AthlonX2 laptop with 2GB RAM, and Windows 7 running in a virtual machine on my iMac allocated only 512 MB RAM. The Windows 7 is faster in almost every way. --- Timothy A. They're having a rough time staying up with all the bandwidth being used I assume. I've noticed a number of Microsoft's sites down today (eOpen, TechNet, WindowsTeamBlog). Unfortunately, I don't know if they're allowing 2.5 million downloads of the .iso files, or if they're taking 2.5 million requests for serial numbers. From: Timothy A.
