Nadav Goldin commented on OVIRT-715:

Looks like there was a temporary network outage in our PHX datacenter
during the night(29/08 - 22:00-23:00 UTC).
From what I checked, at least resources.ovirt.org is working normally
now, so you can try again.

oVirt 4.0.4 RC1 merge / branch / tag / bugzilla reminder

2016-08-29 Thread Sandro Bonazzola
All stable branch maintainers, please make sure to

   - merge all relevant open bugs until Tuesday morning 11:00 AM TLV time.

For each package that need to be built (i.e oVirt product) please make sure
every bug in MODIFIED has the right Target Release and Target Milestone.
A Target release should state the version of the package you're building
and should include the same version you used for the tag you just used for
this build. (e.g. for ovirt-engine, tag: ovirt-engine-4.0.4, tr: 4.0.4)
A list of bugs that require attention is here:

Ack from my end.

We need this package to server as an external network provider for OVN
(https://github.com/openvswitch/ovs/tree/master/ovn ) that is slated for
ovirt-4.1.

[JIRA] (OVIRT-713) Clean reposync directory after n times of sync failure

2016-08-29 Thread Gal Ben Haim (oVirt JIRA)

--

Summary: Clean reposync directory after n times of sync failure
 Key: OVIRT-713
 URL: https://ovirt-jira.atlassian.net/browse/OVIRT-713
Project: oVirt - virtualization made easy
  Issue Type: New Feature
Reporter: Gal Ben Haim
Assignee: infra

Sometimes reposync fail to sync rpms that already been synced.
To resolve this issue, lago removes those rpms, and runs reposync again.
This resolution doesn't always work, and then we need to clean all the rpms
that were synced.

We want lago to clear the cached rpms after n times of sync failure, and then
try to sync again.

Reporter: Gal Ben Haim

When running check merge, new rpms with the latest patch are being generated.
currently those repos are being copied by reposync to /var/lib/lago/reposync.

Those rpms shouldn't be saved to the cache, thus we need to use repoman to
include those rpms in the internal repo.

You shouldn't take review requests to be finished work, they are just
that, requests for review, they in no way represent any final
decisions. They are meant to create exactly the kind of discussion you
want to make, but with working code to talk about.

Since I'm new to Ansible, I needed to produce some working code to be
able to provide any meaningful comments on the code you already wrote.

The way to integrate your work is to submit it as a series of patches
to the new repo, you can either base them on the patches I already
wrote or just on top of the initial empty commit. As we discuss and
merge patches, we will go through the process of coming up with an
agreed upon structure and process.

(As an unrelated note, I find the 'git-review' plugin to be a very
useful tool for managing series of dependant patches)

It seems that the requirements.yaml file and the ansible-galaxy
command provide for adequate means to integrate 3rd party roles such
as ones written by OSAS as long as they are hosted on some public Git
repe or (preferably) Ansible Galaxy.

When writing the patches I submitted, I did my best to use roles that
seemed both popular on Ansible Galaxy and well maintained on GitHub, I
was not aware of the existing work by OSAS, I must have missed some of
your comments.

The postgres role in particular, was written only because I could find
no suitable and well functioning candidate in Ansible Galaxy (Most
roles there seem to be targeted at Ubuntu/Debian anyway). It is very
minimal and sketchy, I will gladly replace it.

The purpose of the review process, and the point of adding you as a
reviewer was exactly to let you comment and point towards such
resources.

Don't worry, as I said before, these are only WIP requests for review.
Indented exactly to create the kind of discussion you seem to want to
make.

Please submit your code as well so we can continue the discussion in Gerrit.

It seems to me the best methodology would be for OSAS to maintain
upstream roles that are then consumed via ansible-galaxy and
requirements.yaml in the oVirt-specific infra-ansible repo.

Like I said, I'm new to Ansible, so I'm open to other suggestions.

I tried to follow guidelines here:
http://docs.ansible.com/ansible/playbooks_best_practices.html

Other suggestions are welcome.
