Re: Need some advice
Hi Pablo Thanks for the links, I've managed to get nagios working on my VM's but still got a lot of work to do figuring out how to configure it but I'm getting there and anything I can look at is much appreciated. Re: Need some advice
Hello Mark, Now you are mentioning Nagios I can share my ansible roles: https://github.com/CoffeeITWorks/ Those still need automated tests and some minor changes to work with fedora/centos/redhat, but most of the parts are done and working properly on our infra on production and testing environments for more than 2 years now. https://github.com/CoffeeITWorks/ansible-role-nagios https://github.com/CoffeeITWorks/ansible_nagios4_server_thruk https://github.com/CoffeeITWorks/ansible_nagios4_server_pnp4nagios https://github.com/CoffeeITWorks/ansible_nagios4_server_config https://github.com/CoffeeITWorks/ansible_nagios4_server_plugins https://github.com/CoffeeITWorks/ansible_nagios4_server_snmptrap I will be working on enhancements and minor changes for those this year to help other use it, so every new issue and pull request is welcome. The snmptrap role is something that I haven't found around internet, so could be interesting for some others. Kind regards, Pablo. Re: Need some advice
Thanks Guys for all the advice I will be a bit more mindful about subject in future, I am just keen to learn and to get up to speed, I've already got nagios up and running locally so I can experiment a bit with it and ansible as well, but I feel I have a much better idea now than what I did a week ago. Well, depends on the kind of things you want to work on and find interesting. ;) Most of our applications have a readme that tells how to set them up for testing. For the sysadmin side you might also look at the CSI doc: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Community_Services_Infrastructure/1/html-single/Security_Policy/index.html (although, it could sure use updating).
