[Inkscape-translator] Inkscape 0.45-pre2 Released

2007-01-26 Thread Bryce Harrington
The second preview release of Inkscape 0.45 is now released. The
changes between pre1 and pre2 are mostly translations plus a few
bugfixes. Hopefully we will not need any further pre-releases before
the final release.

Please someone run update-po, there are still a few changes since
this was done last.

And do I misremember or did we have a String Freeze a bit before
Hard Freeze for 0.44? That way, translators could still commit
translations before going through the wardens at Hard Freeze.

Cheers

Re: [Inkscape-translator] Swedish translation

2007-01-26 Thread Xavier Conde Rueda
Hi Joakim and Henrik,

may I suggest you something? I think it's a good idea to work on a
translation team for other project. For instance, you could send your
inkscape translation to the Gnome translation team for your language
or the KDE translation language team, so you can get useful feedback
from them.

Regards.

I made a bug report of all string problems I'm aware of:
http://sf.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1645093&group_id=93438&atid=604306

Could other translators please check if they also see the "string
translated, but appears in English" problems described there?

Plus I have the following questions for translation:

"Trace along the boundaries of reduced colors"

  (in "Trace bitmap" dialog)

-- does "reduced colors" mean "less colors" here?

"Isotropic scaling (uses smallest: width/xrange or height/yrange)"

  (in "Function Plotter" extension)

-- does this mean: "use the smaller of those two values"?

"Scale Factor (Drawing:Real Length) = 1:"

  (in "Measure Path" extension)

  -- what does "(Drawing:Real Length) = 1" mean?

"Text Outline File"

  (in "Outline 2 SVG" extension)

  -- what's a "text outline"?

Re: [Inkscape-translator] Swedish translation

2007-01-26 Thread Henrik Larsson

Hello Joakim,

My name is Henrik Larsson. I did a lot of updates of the Swedish translation
during the fall last year (between 0.44 and 0.45). I have not been able to
spend any time during the release process for for 0.45, but I plan to
continue with the Swedish translation of Inkscape.

I am happy that you like Inscape and would like to help with the Swedish
translation. We can work together with the translation work. It is always
easier if one has someone to discuss translation issues.

I will contact you directly with information how to do the actual
translation.

Best Regards,

Henrik

Hi.
First of all, I would like to thank all the guys involved with Inkscape,
it's truly a useful application and it's nice to see how many languages
that are supported.
This brings me to the point, my native language is Swedish, and the
translation for Inkscape with Swedish is far from complete. My English
skills are probably enough to make a translation, but although I'm a
fairly experienced computer user, I can't make out where to start the
translation process. I guess the translation is stored in a separate
file of some kind, but where is it? Is there anything else, besides this
I should know before digging in?

Thanks in advance
