It would be even better if the installer didn't force you to install 
Creator at all. We don't use it (preferring Visual Studio and Xcode and 
standalone Qt Assistant/Designer), so we don't need it installed.

So, as I said before, there is no easy way to install Qt Creator.


I have Qt Creator from Qt SDK installed at c:\Qt\Tools\QtCreator.

Then I have installed Qt Creator 5.0.3 into c:\Qt\qtcreator-5.0.3.

The option /"Link with Qt ..."/ in Qt Creator 5.0.3 creates the file:
c:\Qt\qtcreator-5.0.3\share\qtcreator\QtProject\QtCreator.ini with the 
content:


[Settings]
InstallSettings=C:/Qt/Tools/QtCreator/share/qtcreator

Which points to the Qt SDK installation of Qt Creator.

So, I end up with ruined Qt installation. Maintanance tool stopped 
working. Now reinstalling Qt from scratch.


So, as I said before, there is no easy way to install Qt Creator.

This is the least problem I have since updating to 6.0.1

I'm still wondering why there is no way to choose Qt Creator version, 
and why there is no the same functionality as in Qt online installer 
which sets up all the things for Qt Creator when installing it. A 
separate Qt Creator installer could do the same thing. All it needs to 
do is to just ask about existing Qt installation path.___

André, you are mistaken. See my comment at

The problem cannot be workaround by setting QTC_USE_QPROCESS=1 because 
using QtcProcess is the problem, even though QtcProcess by having set 
QTC_USE_QPROCESS=1 is only a "thin" wrapper around QProcess.


This is how I interpret the results that I've got.
