Experience with Data base Administration and Unix scripting is a must
Work experience with SAP Java based products like CLM, BPM , Cronacle,
etc.   At least 2-4 years experience with some would be great.
Hands on experience multiple SAP upgrades, EHP installs, homogenous &
heterogeneous migrations, system copies, SolMan integration for RCA, EWA,
monitoring.
SAP clean install (ECC, BW, GTS, EP, PI, SRM, SolMan, GRC, SNC, SCM etc.)

7 years of SAP Basis Admin experience

Location: Woodland Hills, CA (near LA)

Duration: 5+ months







This is for 2 SAP Basis Administrators (temp position) required for a project. 

Candidate is responsible for all aspects of SAP Basis administration support 
including providing support for the installation, configuration, maintenance 
and trouble shooting of the Basis component of the SAP R/3 ECC 6.0 and BI 7.0 
system and associated technologies. Additional general production support 
and/or project support as part of the SAP infrastructure team as required. 
Detailed responsibilities include: installation, technical administration, 
tuning, upgrade and monitoring of the SAP ECC, BI, Solution Manager and Oracle 
10G database. Transport Management System and supporting all development 
activities. 



Requirements: 

• Hands on operation and upgrade experience with R/3 4.7, ECC 6.0, BW 3.5, 
WebAS 6.20/6.40 and EP 6.0 

• Hands on operation and upgrade experience with Oracle 9i/10G/11G and MS SQL 
Server 2005 database systems

The SAP Basis administrator within the Information Technology department is
responsible for the management of the SAP ECC environment. This role
includes supporting the Basis strategy around hardware, software,
databases, and Basis administration procedures.

*Responsibilities*

SAP BW BPC Performance and administration
SAP JAVA skills is a must
SAP system copies
Perform hardware sizing assessments and make recommendations on hardware
design, OS and Database layouts
Install, configure, troubleshoot and tune SAP BW BPC landscape
Ensure adherence to standards around technical team use of SAP Solution
Manager
Develop and implement an instance/client strategy in accordance with SAP
best practices
Define procedures and standards for configuring, monitoring, tuning and
troubleshooting the SAP technical environment
Follow procedures and standards regarding Transport and Correction in
conjunction with requirements defined by the Change Control Board
Develop and implement backup, patch, note, and upgrade strategies
Perform technical troubleshooting as needed to ensure 24/7 availability of
all systems
Develop and implement printer, network, portal, and GUI distribution
strategies
Develop, document and execute testing standards and procedures
Design and implement archiving strategies
Perform rigorous quality checks to ensure efficient use of all SAP
hardware, software, operating systems, and databases

Assist functional and technical team members with functional and
development troubleshooting
Perform operational Basis administration to ensure team resource balancing
and 24/7 coverage
Understand and participate in decisions regarding non-SAP systems
Perform Basis team training as needed
Evaluate software
Negotiate with vendors

*Qualifications*

Expert in the ABAP \ JAVA stacks
Expert of BW architecture, system landscape design and implementation
Experience with BEx queries, BEx Analyser, multi-providers and activating
cubes
Experience in BW \ BPC integration with ECC, configuration, installation
and troubleshooting
Experienced and well-researched on current technology that supports SAP ECC
and other applications
In-depth understanding of SAP best practices around all aspects of Basis
administration
Relationship-building with counterparts at SAP and other partners
Excellent knowledge of the SAP implementation lifecycle, ASAP methodology,
phased global rollout approach, and implications on Basis administration
In-depth understanding of SAP and non-SAP development tools
Cultural adaptability since role supports sites and users in other regions
of the world
Team leadership and collaborative skills to ensure Basis integration with
other project team members

Seven+ years of IT experience required with at least five years of
experience managing SAP BW Administration functions
Experience in a Microsoft Server and SQL Server SAP environment
Experience with VMware
AFS industry solution within an SAP environment is desirable
Full cycle ERP / BW implementation experience required

Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: computer science,
industrial engineering, information systems
