Hi, I think Christian would be a fantastic working group chair for the IPv6 working group and has my full support. He is a long term menber of our community and has a proven record of IPv6 experience. Since 2019 I am working as a network consultant for system.de and support our subsidiary Route 128 with my IPv6 knowledge. Dear WG and Chairs, This short message is to introduce myself as the second candidate for the chair position of our WG. My name is Paolo, I am based in Milano (Italy). I'm rather new in the RIPE community, as my first in-person meeting was RIPE 84. Yet, my interest in being more involved in IPv6 and, hopefully, serving as a chair of the WG comes from currently being with the European standardization department of Huawei. Thanks to that, I am active in the IETF in a few IPv6-related WGs (e.g. v6ops, 6man, BMWG). I have co-authored RFC 9386 on IPv6 deployment status and have some other drafts on-going. I do believe that there is a lot of operational knowledge in the RIPE community. The standards done at the IETF and the progress in the deployment of IPv6, in particular in the European region, may really benefit from that. I know that, sometimes, saying that I work for a big vendor such as Huawei makes someone "turn up their nose". My employer is informed, of course, but not involved. I am not here for doing sales, rather to build open and trusted relationships. This is, to me, the greatest added value of being part of a community. In any case, I have also worked for other companies, including an Italian mobile carrier. What else? In the spare time I like cooking and wine tasting. Since we are going to meet in Rome, something can be organized on purpose :-) Said that, let me wish Christian and myself good luck! [ipv6-wg] The Candidates for the IPv6-wg Co-chair position
Dear IPv6-wg list members and RIPE community. In the upcoming RIPE meeting (RIPE87) we will select a new co-chair, who will fill the gap, since Benedikt Stockebrand has decided to step down and not run for another term. The selection process will be done at the IPv6-wg session, via the meeting system "Meetecho". There will be a poll on who do you want to select. This system is available for all onsite and online. You will all get a link from the meeting organization to the Meetecho website, keep it near... You can still register for the meeting online or onsite: https://ripe87.ripe.net/attend/register/ In response to our request on the list we are glad to announce that we have 2 interested candidates: Christian Seitz Paolo Volpato They will send in their personal motivations and backgrounds to this list soon.
