Re: [IRCA] TP's for 08-05-08
Not a great morning.what was present was strictly Asiatic, it seems, for the most part. Listened from 12:15 to 12:45. HLAZ 1566 gave a very strong signal, with fair to good modulation, though, at 12:35. Here are the audios, 6 unless otherwise noted: 270 and 279 576 747 7567, late using the ALA 100 aimed at NZ 774 828: Best of the NHK2 signals with language lesson in EE at 12:24 at 8 level. Where are you from, Mr Tanaka?. 972 1224 1287 1404 1475: 6 to 7 strength at 12:36 1512 1566: 8 strength 1575 That was it. [IRCA] Brasil 1100 in IBOC
** BRAZIL. Conforme falado antes pelo PY4ZBZ Roland, seria necessário que os canais adjacentes estivessem livres para que o sinal alcancasse maior cobertura geográfica (Huelbe Garcia, Porto Alegre, RS, Brasil, @tividade DX August 3 via DXLD) You guys on the coasts of Europe and New England should have fun decoding IBOC from this relatively easy one in analog (Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
[IRCA] TPs from Orcas Island: August 5
I DXed from 1230 until 1300. And the pattern for me seemed like the last week or so... maybe the last month: JJ early and DU late. All signals, except the JJs were 6s. 531 585 621 702 747 Best of the three JJs, hit 8 at 1235 756 774 828 855 (Both DU and NK hets. NK high as usual) 972 1053 Large OC... is this the Jammer with out the jam?? Have noted several AMs 1098 Large OC *** I skipped 1100-1500 kHz this AM and Walt proved that I shouldn't do that 1566 Under mod at 1238 I remember last year about this time that 747 was usually the strongest of the three JJs, as it has been here most AMs this last week or so. By Sept. last year, 774 had resumed its traditional leading role. I wonder what that pattern, if it is one, means? Things are gonna get better one of these days. John B. [IRCA] WABV silent
Ever had that fantasy, when you leave a job, that the station will be so deprived by your departure that it will sign off the next day? Last time I checked, WBZ and WCAP and R News all survived this writer's departure without incident. But as I reviewed the changes report for 10watts.com today, I note that WABV in Abbeville went silent on or about July 3. Re: [IRCA] WABV silent
By the way, I should add.. what i've accused of by the owner. Secondly, How can I have a transmitte rin my car? I don't drive, LOL. Thirdly, we DID have a transmitter on a trailer on the trip up. But it was another transmitter that my Chef Engineer was delivering to Denver, and nothing related to WABV. Paul On Tue, Aug 5, 2008 at 5:51 PM, Paul B. Dennis, They are charging 9.95 for shipping. I agree that at their original price, I wasn't really considering one. For $30 I figured it was worth trying one out. 73 Craig Barnes Wondervu, CO --- On Mon, 8/4/08, Dennis Gibson [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: From: Dennis Gibson [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [IRCA] IRCA Digest, Vol 52, Issue 9 To: irca@hard-core-dx.com Date: Monday, August 4, 2008, 11:28 PM At the full list price of $130.00 it's way overpriced considering it doesn't have SSB. For not much more than that you can get a Sony ICF-SW7600GR with both SSB and synchronous detection. If you're into SW it's hot off the whip. The MW is a little disappointing. If you have any locals at the top of the MW band the IF shift works wonders. [IRCA] 104.5 The Dalles, OR
Apparently, I was told KMCQ-FM The Dalles, OR went silent Friday afternoonr or evening. For anyone who forgets, it was 100KW/1995 feet but has a Construction Permit to move to Covington, WA with 25KW/318 feet, south of Seattle. It may or may not already been on in Seattle, that I don't know for sure. This was the station that caused all the checker board moves.. including First Broadcasting buying a Small Class A on 103.9 and a Class C on 1490 in Forks, WA a town of 4500 people and moving the FM to 96.7 they've been oeprating that station at a loss for MONTHS and rumour has it they want it off their books BAD, and will sell it for ALOT less then what they paid.
