I doubt it'll return to air under current owners.. I've been told it's
available for lease or sale.

Re: [IRCA] From Paul Lotsof-AZ

2010-07-06 Thread amdxmail

KEVT was one of the two stations that conducted a DX test this season,
WSRY-1550 Maryland being the other. KEVT can really get out on day power with
code and sweeps; Nigel Pimblett in Alberta caught some sweep tones on their
January test. The test started three and a half hours late; otherwise, I bet
other DXers at such distances would have heard them as well.

I sure hope they can send some DX test-style program content during those two
hours - even with 10 kilowatts, voice IDs (whether English or Spanish!) have a
hard time making it in this day and age.

Paul Lotsof, Frank Luna and Armando Zamora have really been DXers' friends
these past several years - I'm sorry to hear about KEVT's reversals of fortune.

Re: [IRCA] [NRC-AM] From Paul Lotsof-AZ

2010-07-06 Thread neilkaz
A shame to see another AMer falling victim to the poor economy for AMers.

They get out decently towards the east on 10 KW ND as I've had them a few times
here on sunset skip in IL on Phased BOGs (WPHT phased to dust). However, KGYN
will have to be running proper night pattern for this to happen.

Re: [IRCA] From Paul Lotsof-AZ

2010-07-06 Thread Mike Sanburn

Thanks for the heads up on this DX opportunity. Sad that this economy is taking
its toll everywhere. I have logged this station here at KQTL/KEVT I believe. If
I'm not mistaken this stations tower site is near the Amtrak Sunset Limited
tracks and therefore visable when traveling through Southern AZ by train. 1210
for me is mostly a mixture of San Marcos CA, Washington UT, and Guymon OK.
