Hello To All, Monday evening provided us with another surprise as both the stations on 590 and 930 in St. John's were off the air for a long stretch . Combined with the absence of those stations and the great propagation (Solar Flux at 182 and K Index at 1 )we were able to add 3 new ones to the overall log as well 5 for the Hope ledger. Nothing but a carrier from Radio Rossii on 279. 153 RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1410 good signal with Radio Rossii ID. 189 RUSSIA, Radio Rossii 1411 fair signal with man in Russian. 594 JAPAN, JOAK 1415-1421 NHK1 fair to good signal with music and Japanese talk. 657 DPR OF KOREA, 1500 3+1 pips when singing. Weak signal. 666 JAPAN, JOBK 1503 NHK1 weak signal with man in Japanese. 693 JAPAN, JOAB NHK2 1422 fair signal with some splatter. 774 JAPAN, JOUB NHK2 1428 fair to good signal with splatter and woman in Japanese. 828 JAPAN, JOBB NHK2 1425-1427 weak to fair signal with some splatter. 1422 JAPAN, JORF1455-1458 had to be the station with strong carrier, but just no audio. Listened to carrier for 3 minutes and no audio. 1566 REPUBLIC OF KOREA, HLAZ 1429 weak signal with talk. Can anyone Stateside clarify what has happened to missing geomagnetic info sites www.swpc.noaa.gov and www.swpc.noaa.gov which are coming up Sorry, the website cannot be found. Any help appreciated. [IRCA] Brazilian DX Club 8 FSL Demonstration Video
Hello All, For those interested in the new Ferrite Sleeve Loop antennas, a demonstration video of an 8 diameter model recently constructed by Eduardo Mairipora in Brazil was posted on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I4-xPltkq8 . Demonstrating the antenna's inductive coupling boost to a medium-sized Sony portable, the narrative is in Portuguese, but the antenna's performance is impressive in any language.
