Re: [IRCA] 830 at 8:00
KUYO's "critical hours" authorization is for 9.2 kilowatts non-directional, per the FCC -Paul Swearingen, Topeka -Original Message- From: Rick Dau To: Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America Sent: Tue, Mar 27, 2012 9:20 pm Subject: Re: [IRCA] 830 at 8:00 I know it SAYS watts on the link, but it HAS to mean kilowatts. Let's look at this reasonably -- the combined area of Casper-Evansville is 31.1 square miles. 2 watts, or even 3, at night will NOT cover that in anyone's wildest dreams. Why would KUYO be on the air with a peanut power like that if most of the Casper metro wouldn't even be able to hear it at that hour? My guess is that 3 kw and 2 kw are correct. 73, Rick Dau South Omaha, Nebraska From: "Mike Westfall, Lost Almost NM" To: Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America Sent: Tuesday, March 27, 2012 10:09 AM Subject: Re: [IRCA] 830 at 8:00 Oh wait. You're right. I thought the FCC always specified powers in kilowatts, but looking at the PSSA again I see it's watts...
