Getting the Disney program on 1580, a beat behind the 1560 program. If
KMIK, then a new one here. Is there anyone else with Disney on 1580?

Thanks for the tip.

Fades into CKDO and then back. Poor, but definitely the same program.

If KMIK, AZ #2 here. #1 was 660 KTNN.

Fello DX'ers:

The station on 1580khz heard last
night was Radio Disney!  This station was all over
CKDO, which is normally dominant here.  Briefly
they were even stonger and clearer than WQEW R. Disney on
1560!

There were frequent Radio Disney
slogans, Pop music with Teenypopers calling in requests,
definitely not CKDOs format.

Give them a try
again tonight and hope the CX were as good or better than
last night.

[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-21

2012-10-21 Thread d1028gary

Hello All,

As others have reported, there was a halfhearted Asiatic TP recovery this
morning, but those who stayed in bed probably didn't miss much. The Japanese
and Korean big guns on 594, 693, 774, 972 and 1053 managed to fade in and out
with poor to fair audio around 1315, then were joined by 1575-VOA during a very
mediocre sunrise enhancement period. None of the Asiatic TP's sounded very
vibrant, and after reaching audio for a few seconds they typically dived back
down in the noise. In this DU-dead zone there was no hope of any NZ action like
what Nick reported, but 738-Tahiti did show up with its usual anemic French
audio around 1405. Overall the session was dreary-- but at least a slight
improvement over yesterday.

[IRCA] TPs in Seattle - 21 Oct

2012-10-21 Thread Bruce Portzer
I finally broke down and listened this morning and, for the first time
in two weeks, I was able to hear a few TPs.

Conditions seemed to peak at about 1320 here, with poor results after
1330 and no sunrise enhancement to speak of. The only audio was from
the usual high powered Japanese and Koreans.
Reception might have been better were it not for an increased noise
level. There was no sign of DU activity, with the possible exception of
weak carriers on 1512 and 1548.

Nice audio, for a brief period

1566Church service in Japanese peaking at about 1323

Fair audio for a brief period, bits of it would have been understandable
to a native speaker

972Music and Korean talk 1324

Weak audio, recognizable bits of stuff but not understandable
747Japan at 1321
774Japan weather at 1318, might've made the "fair audio" category
were it not for a weird co channel gurgling noise

828Japan weather at 1313
1557Unid, presumably Taiwan, with trace audio in the splatter
peaking later than everyone else at 1430

Carriers visible on the SDR display
1053 1206 1422 1512 1548 1575

[IRCA] TP Oct 21, 2012 / Victoria version

2012-10-21 Thread Nick Hall-Patch
It was a better morning than lately, with a mix of Asia (JJ big guns
mostly, mostly before 1400UT) and DU, and quite spotty. By the looks
of Dennis' loggings, the Asians are better earlier on right now.

pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

none

reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a
native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):

774 JOUB EE lessons 1355UT
774 3LO (assumed) DU woman o/assumed NHK 1412UT

not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be

understood by a native speaker:

612 slow choral mx at 1358UT. Sounded Christian, possible on the
dying hours of a Sunday night on 4QR, but never heard such on that
station. It also sounded a heck of a lot like what was on 909 just
then, which would have made it Southern Star at 2.5kw, but I couldn't
get the two to fade up at the same time, hi. Another time.

747 JOIB EE lessons //774 various times around 1400UT
828 JOBB EE lessons at 1401UT

Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by
cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) :

702 man talking 1352UT, a bit of a DU EE flavor to it. 2BL?
909 Southern Star, choral mx 1357UT, seemed // to webstream at 1359UT
972 man talking 1413UT, and as late as 1438UT; would have suspected
DU by now, but inflection didn't seem DU EE, so HLCA?

1053 KK jammer 1351UT
1116 man talking, very weak, 1425UT, likely 4BC?
1287 JOHR? man talking 1414UT, JJ inflection

Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter):

567 576 594 603 765 891 1179 1242 1314 1566

best wishes,

Nick

[IRCA] TP for 21Oct2012 from Victoria: a bit of everything

2012-10-21 Thread Walter Salmaniw
Conditions returned in a big way with many carriers. Unlike Nick's DX
Fishbarrel, though, many of his strong carriers were just at audible
levels, making it difficult to be certain of what I was hearing. It seemed
to be a mixed bag of DU and Asian signals. My big winner (not TP, but
"half-TP" was the Maui station on 900. Really booming in this morning with
armchair level. 940, on the other hand, another regular Honolulu station
was replaced with a Spanish speaking station. I could hear the Hawaiian
under the much stronger SS station around 14:00, but not at all a few
minutes later, while 900 stuck around for about another 30 minutes. A
notable post SR enhancement for DU stations (ie 774) also quite obvious.
All in all, seemingly a day in transition. I'll be interested in how
other local listeners fared, especially Nick! SF 151, A 3, K 1.

Subject: [IRCA] ULR DX.UNID Station on 1230 with Moorhens???
Footballsound Familiar to Anyone??

Hi Guys:

Tonight at Sunset  (1740 EDT) I heard a UNID Station on 1230 Khz with either
a College or High School Football Game.

The 2 Teams were "The MOORHENS" and the "PANTHERS"not positive about the
Panthers...but the Moorhens was definite.

I also thought I heard a Mention of "Waynesville???" or similar??

There are a Million teams called the Panthers..but I can't imagine there's
many called the "Moorhens"!!!

I have searched the web and come up Blank!!! I can't find any school that uses
the "Moorhen" as their Mascot or Team Name

Does this sound familiar to anyone out there in Football Land??? Anyone ever
heard of the "Moorhens"???

Any help on this UNID appreciated.

The Signal seemed to be oriented SE/NW from me here in London, Ontario..
