This is an informal poll to determine attendance at the THURSDAY EVENING DX-PEDITION held at this year's joint DX Convention. I don't have your arrival info in front of me, but if you're here Thursday you'll want to know that we have reserved a picnic shelter at a nearby lake with space to deploy antennas and power for radios. The event is hosted by the Minnesota DX Club and will be an "Open House" from 6 PM to 10 PM Thursday August 1st. Would you kindly indicate by reply e-mail to me whether you might have an interest in attending? If so, do you need any special hook-ups etc? We anticipate deploying a short BOG, some HF/UHF gear and hopefully one of Kaz's new antenna ideas. Transportation will be arranged by car-pool, so you might advise if you can be one of the drivers. An early indication of your interest will be really helpful! Hi Derek, My own Cannon Beach (Rockwork) DXpedition will be from July 21-27 (Sunday to Saturday), while I understand that the Yachats (Cape Perpetua) group will be DXing from July 22-25. Because the Yachats group will be using multiple Perseus-SDR's and antennas (including a new 12" Broadband FSL designed here), most likely they will come away with quite a few more DU-DX loggings than me. 73, Gary -Original Message- From: Derek Vincent To: Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America Sent: Sun, Jul 7, 2013 5:05 pm Subject: Re: [IRCA] DU's for Sunday, July 07, 2013; Victoria version I can almost taste the DX already : ) What's the date or dates for the coastal trip. Re: [IRCA] DU's for Sunday, July 07, 2013; Victoria version
I wasn't listening (or, more properly, recording) that late this morning Dennis. Sounds like I should have been. It was another minimal carrier morning here, with 531, 567, 738, and 1566 all somewhat stronger carriers, in fact, with judicious use of synchronous detection, all had "imaginary" traces of audio, but I'll call them carriers. 1566 even had a SAH on it as well. best wishes, Nick At 12:46 07-07-13, Dennis Vroom wrote: The two frequently heard DU's again this morning.
