[IRCA] TP 1 Mar Victoria version
Yesterday, my antenna broke; today, propagation broke. pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): uh uh Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): nope not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker: actually, HLAZ's Japanese program did manage this level, organ mx, choral mx 1328UT, FEBC mention by woman 1336UT, and now and again up through Japanese program s/off at 1345UT. Snippets of the CC program showed up over the next 15 minutes or so at lower level Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) 972 man talking 1307UT 1044 hints of woman talking 1413UT.really reaching here, but there wasn't much else Strongish het, no or near imaginary audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter) 828 1044 1053 1242 1422 1593 best wishes, Nick ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
Re: [IRCA] Ecuador on 750
Thank you guys. To tell you the truth Brandon, I have more success with trans-Atlantic stations than Latins. It seems that you have to DX deep in the night to be successful with Latins, which I'm not doing. I would certainly like also to log more Mexicans like Saul is doing in Ontario, but it seems that the key for that is to get up very early and I'm used to get up at 7:00 :-) Sylvain Le 2015-02-28 17:32, Brandon Jordan a écrit : I have been extremely jealous of Canadian reception of LA since I joined my first club (NRC and NASWA) in 1976 and saw other folks logging's. :) On Sat, Feb 28, 2015 at 4:26 PM, neilkaz neil...@earthlink.net wrote: Very nice! From that moment, I began to record a chunk of the band with the Perseus hoping that it could later reveal more surprises on other nearby channels. Surprisingly, after a quick review of the files, there was nothing to cheer for. A few Cubans were observed here and there, but not with authority as the band was largely dominated with domestics. What surprised me also was the absence of Venezuela on 750, which is usually the dominant LA station here on that channel. _Clip# 1_: With the station alone on the frequency, promos including one from the /Pollo Rojo/ restaurant, enumerating typical Ecuadorian dishes from their menu like /Aguado de pollo /and /seco de pollo /http://www.quebecdx.com/ecuador_hcrc2_750d.mp3 _Clip# 2_: This time, a phone-in report with Radio Caravana mentions. The clip begin with a mix of domestics with WSB among them then around sec.30, there's a shift in the propagation path and this is where the 25 Kw Ecuadorian station retake the lead http://www.quebecdx.com/ecuador_hcrc2_750c.mp3 Even though this is a relog from 2012, I was very pleased to repeat the experience :) A 5500Km/3400 miles haul ... [IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 3-1
Hello All, As predicted by solar experts Asian signals hit the skids this morning, with very few TP's managing to get out of the noise during a non-existent sunrise enhancement. The diehards that did manage audio didn't stick around for long, and you needed some luck to catch them at the right time. At my 1405 start time the band featured poor signals in and out from 594, 603, 693, 972, 1044 (the only minor surprise) and 1566 in the darkness, which seemed like a fairly routine situation just before daybreak. Unfortunately the increasing daylight did nothing for the Asians, which bailed one by one until they were all long gone by 1440. It's possible that TP signals were better prior to my 1405 start time, but after pushing my live-DXing luck yesterday by starting of at 1300 (with fairly good results) I figured that the frozen back yard didn't seem as attractive as an extra hour of sleep. 73 and Good DX, Gary DeBock (in Puyallup, WA, USA) 7.5 loopstick C.Crane Skywave Ultralight + 15 FSL antenna ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
