[IRCA] Alberta TPs for 15 September 2017

2017-09-15 Thread Nigel Pimblett

Certainly nothing like Steve's conditions noted here in Alberta. Not a
trace of any Asians. Lots of DU carriers, several quite strong, but the
only audio noted was a few minutes of marginal audio from New Zealand's
Newstalk ZB on 1035 at about 1250 UTC, a few minutes before our local
sunrise.

stock caradio as specified; ICR-75  E-W longwire

** MEXICO. 770, Sept 15 at 1210, several ``Los Cuarenta`` slogans atop music,

700, 710, 730. KKOB NM should pop on to ND day pattern at 1245 during September

carrier on 1449 from WSW, or rather less than 1449 so probably a US 1450
off-frequency or a local device. Nothing more than 5 kW on 1449 from

I just noticed I messed up the 1566 mystery station info, putting it on
the 972 line. I've corrected it here. (and apparently my good conditions
were just local to me.)

[IRCA] CO TP Report 9-15-17

2017-09-15 Thread C B via IRCA
--- Begin Message ---
I returned to the dials after a brief hiatus this morning. The only audio was
DU on 702, presumed 2BL with female speaking with what sounded like an Aussie
accent, very poor and only in for a few minutes at 1212. I believe this is the
first DU audio I have received in CO. The only other DU signal received was a
het on 1098.

Asian oriented hets were heard on 774, 828, 882, 1008 and 1035.

I listened from 1209 to 1319. LSR at 1342.

[IRCA] Central Pacific listening post - Hawaii - TPs Sept 15

2017-09-15 Thread R. Colin Newell
I did not get up this morning but took a look at the Oahu, Hawaii
WebSDR to see how things were shaping up. At 1530 UTC the upper
band was chock a block with fair to good signals on all of the 9 khz
channels from 1098 up to the top of the band - most notably 2nd tier
Japanese stations and the higher power regional broadcasters.

The WebSDR at http://72.235.91.131:8073 is very useful for getting a sense
of what you might be hearing by giving you "the closer view"...

1098 khz, for instance, right now is a giant carrier with lots of Asian
sounding chatter underneath it -
