Re: [IRCA] S. AZ TPs December 3
Steve, are you sure you weren't on 1467 instead? There is no jammer in the DPRK on 1476. That frequency is Sound of the Great Northern Wilderness in most of the area. 1467 is a powerful DPRK jammer, however. It often bleeds over onto 1476, but I can't imagine you'd get the local bleed-over from such a distance. However, Great Northern Wilderness has a decent deal of Korean-language programming. I can check if there is a new jammer on this frequency to block it, as it seems that was their intention with the 1584 jammer, also blocking this network's sister station with Korean, but it seems unlikely. -Chris Kadlec http://www.beaglebass.com/dx/seoul/ Date: Sun, 3 Dec 2017 07:56:59 -0700 From: Steve RatzlaffTo: Mailing list for the International Radio Club of America Subject: [IRCA] S. Re: [IRCA] noontime 1575 etc
That seems to correlate pretty well with what was observed in Victoria Don. MW conditions from Europe have been unobservable until this evening (1575 slowly building in strength, though still a carrier, and nothing else noted yet). East Asia was very poor on Saturday morning, though better than on Friday. I haven't gone through this morning in detail yet, but the signal strengths look considerably better from East Asia than on Saturday. best wishes, Nick At 02:03 2017-12-04, Don Moman VE6JY wrote: Well nothing can kill a signal like reporting it! 1575 didn't last long after I did that. No sign of anything resembling a carrier anywhere in the band now... I was also going to mention, just for general interest of guys like Nick and a few others, the conditions experienced from here in the ARRL 160 contest this weekend. Friday evening was pretty normal, no Europe. Sat morning only 2 of the bigger Japan stations. Saturday evening still no Europe but we did see two stations from far Northern Europe that were hearing us. We didn't hear any Europeans calling us. Sunday morning was significantly better to Japan and we worked dozens of them.
