[IRCA] Victoria TA part 2
Not a complete wash out this evening. Two more audios, both a little speculative, and reasonably exotic. 1053 at 0401UT, a woman talking rapidly, sounded like Romania's R. Iasi stream, followed by music, somewhat later on the stream. Nothing at 0400UT, became audible fairly quickly, but never anything more than just audible 1386 at 0405UT, man talking, slavic intonation; woman talking 0411UT. Both turning up at similar times on Swedish / Finnish kiwiSDRs, so guessing R. Baltic Waves Lithuania? Lots of unusual carriers: 639 855 864 891 909 954 1008 1026 1035 1179 1278 1431 1458 1521 (faded out just at Duba sunrise) 1593 best wishes, Nick Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
[IRCA] TP 6 Feb Victoria version
The upper band revived somewhat today, but except for apparent Chinese on 1098, it wasn't a very exciting morning pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least briefly): 1566 HLAZ woman in Chinese 1522UT Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise): 972 HLCA musical interlude, man in Korean 1509-10UT not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise could be understood by a native speaker: 774 JOUB woman in Japanese 1438 and 1506UT; pretty weak today also, even with staying on after 1500UT 1593 CNR1 man and woman in Chinese 1520UT; noted //6125 earlier Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music) 594 woman mumbling 1510UT; presumed JOAK as pips had been heard weakly at 1500UT 747 JOIB woman talking //828 1512UT 828 JOBB as above 1098 man talking, Chinese intonation; not //6180 or 6145, so unlikely to be Taiwan Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter) 639 918 945 1134 1206 1323 1422 1494 1503 1575 seemed to be Asian; 576 612 738 792 846 1017 1098 seemed to be DU best wishes, Nick Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com
[IRCA] Victoria TA
The usual annoyance this evening of hearing a number of TA carriers in Victoria, with some occasionally quite strong , but never quite delivering audio. Except 1575. The unholy Iranian buzz jammer is making sure that Farda isn't heard (well, it wasn't being heard anyway). This jammer is fading in and out, and sounding just like it does in eastern Europe, or if you're unlucky, on the east coast. Audio. From Iran; and that's it. best wishes, Nick Nick Hall-Patch Victoria, BC Canada ___ IRCA mailing list IRCA@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/irca Opinions expressed in messages on this mailing list are those of the original contributors and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the IRCA, its editors, publishing staff, or officers For more information: http://www.ircaonline.org To Post a message: irca@hard-core-dx.com

Re: [IRCA] TWR Bonaire Inaugurates 450 kW Transmitter
Been checking AM 800 in early morning hours and so far haven't heard a peep from them here in SE US, just a jumble of low power radio station signals. Could be their three-pattern radio broadcast transmission system has a null in my direction? Using a Walkman SRF M37V. Just had a visit by a couple who just came back from Bonaire who helped with the upgrade. Also saw the live streaming of the dedication service. Re: [IRCA] TWR Bonaire Inaugurates 450 kW Transmitter
There has been numerous reports that it's been heard like a local, albiet temporarily, in Indiana and a fellow Twin Cities dxer has heard it but weak amongst a CHAB/CKLW/WDUX/KQCV/KXIC QRM. I have not heard of any reports from the western great plains on west. Their main lobe does go NNW. I would suspect they will be a super pest during au cx as they were back when they had 500kw back in the 80s. I haven't tried too hard because I do not need them and the night that I did try WDUX was ravaging the frequency.
