1430  WION  Ionia MI   DX test   2-24-19
Several long test tones alternating with presumed open carrier 0035-0113 EST, 
fair to occasionally good levels.  As 0130 neared, much stronger with Elton 
John's "I'm Still Standing", then promo: "Hearing AM Stereo 1430 at a local 
business today?  *Thank* the business!  Then let *us* know, so that we can 
thank 'em too.  On almost any device, almost anywhere, we're WION."  Into 
unfamiliar rocker, still strong.  Been chasing this for 48 years.

[IRCA] KRRD-1250 / KFFK 1390 / K291CK 106.1 in northwest Arkansas

1250  KRRD  Fayetteville AR 2/24 0322 UTC - Good signal with "...northwest 
Arkansas, Red Dirt Country 106.1" at the end of liner spoken by a male that 
sounded like Sam Elliot (the actor), then into modern C music.  On a hunch, I 
checked 1390 to see if it was simulcasting KFFK in Rogers (and K291CK in 
Fayetteville), and sure enough, it is.  This is a very recent format change, no 
longer news/talk, and the 1390 is no longer Spanish, either.

sidebands are quite visible even when not audible.

Traveling to WION, Ionia, MI tomorrow to do a bunch of PM. After midnight EST 
(early Sunday morning), we will be doing testing at full power, omni. Work 
includes IPM reduction and sweeping each tower so that I can complete the 
design and construction of a non-resonant power divider. The current resonant 
tank circuit divider exhibits 4dB of sideband tilt that I currently correct 
using the cquam exciter. That is, of course, not ideal and we'll be
