Not nearly as inspiring here with my K9AY and Sony 2010, but had some
faint audio on 1377, and het on 1215. Haven't checked all the other
freqs. What is 1377?

Re: [IRCA] CFCW 790 Camrose, Alberta, Canada Moving on August 1st

2015-08-01 Thread Chris Dorn
The frequency flip was interesting to listen to, and had some hiccups.
Took them about 15 minutes to get everything sorted out. The new signal
is very strong here.

difference in pattern or power from what they have on 790 now.

[IRCA] CJLI 700 Calgary Testing

2015-05-09 Thread Chris Dorn
CJLI 700 must be testing. I had them at 2130 with an ID and music now at
2200 they are an open carrier. Signal is typical for Calgary, so must
have some power. Very strange to see a station coming on in Alberta.

They are not on any longer. They concluded the testing around 2200 or
so. Don't know when they will be back.

Re: [IRCA] Drake R8

2015-02-24 Thread Chris Dorn

Hi Patrick and all,

Drake ceased repair operations of all amateur and shortwave radios back
in July 2012. A former employee, John Kriner, apparently will work on
the R8 series, at least for now, through his private business. Looks
like you got in under the wire.

Bill,

When I got up today the Drake R8 was working normal and I got 1 new station
KWXY-1340 in Cathedral City, California. But, the next time I turned the
Drake R8 it came on for a few seconds than I heard a big pop noise and it
went dead. So now I am back to the R-390A which is still working.

[IRCA] Radio for Sale

2015-02-09 Thread Chris Dorn

Hello all,

I have a Lowe HF-150 that I would like to pass on to someone else to
enjoy. This would be ideal for those who like to go portable. It does
show some signs of use and wear, but not too bad. It comes with the AC
adapter and external keypad. I'm asking $275USD, including shipping
costs from Canada to USA.
