[IRCA] 1130 Mount Angel update
I talked to the GM at Bustos Media at the Portland office yesterday about Mount Angel. My report I sent was never directed to the GM, so someone else got it. What happened to it, maybe the Business Manager got it. But the GM told me that 1130 Mount Angel, they know nothing much about it except it is in the testing mode. They don't know when it will come on the air, as the control of that is coming directly out of their home office in Sacramento. It is possible, the offices in Portland will control the programming, in time, but that is unknown. A local engineering firm are involved with the ETs. I am sending my report to the Sacramento office, as the Portland office doesn't want to QSL it, at least at this time. I guess I could wait, as I am pretty sure Portland will be in control of it, as who else will? But maybe I can get a QSL out of Sacramento directly. But now we know. Pat, Thanks for the information on KTRP 1130 Mount Angel. Hope you get a QSL from Bustos in Sacramento. You'll probably be the first to receive a QSL. Good Luck. When I first heard the testing on 1130, I send a e-mail to Bustos Portland and never got a reply. I did get a reply when I inquired about KOOR 1010 when they did their format change. KTRP 1130 is testing now at 1:50 PM PST. S-9+40 db. A little splatter from local Bustos station on 1150. Pat, Congratulations on catching KTRP testing at night. Nice signal here at 0501 with KTRP Mount Angel equipment test. S-9+45db. KTRP ID heard through CKWX program. Two signals about equal. When using the omni H-800 whip CKWX dominates with a S-9+30db signal with the KTRP tone underneath. I heard an ID at about a minute past the hour at both 9 pm and 10 pm MST. The tone seems to have vanished now, so don't know if they've gone off day power or if it's a change in propagation.
