[IRCA] 1390 WSPO Test

2014-11-11 Thread Nigel Pimblett
I finally had the chance to go over my complete recording this morning.
Had some sweep tones just before 0502, and then some more sweeps near
the end of the test, but that was about it. The KRKO IBOC made
listening on USB useless, but luckily on LSB it was much better.KJAM
was the dominant signal on 1390 (apparently not at 62 watts), with the
Christmas music from KLGN, and Spanish from an unID station also taking
turns on top. Oddly, KRRZ, usually the dominant one here, wasn't much
of a factor.

Many thanks to those responsible for putting the test on.

surprised me as usually the tones make it through. Of course KRKO's IBOC slop
didn't help. What I did hear was a Spanish station that sounded very much like
a XE. No IDs for that heard. I also heard someone playing continuous holiday
music that ID'd at Y-FM. Anyone with ideas on who that could have been?

Nice going catching this is AB. I didn't try for the test as I don't need this
station which has come right thru Chicago a couple of times here.

I strongly like KJAM has been running day power at night for several seasons
now. Often complete ownage of 1390 at night on western antennas from here in
IL. KRRZ is very rarely noted.

I have no idea what your Spanish was and I very rarely get anything in Spanish
on western antennas on 1390 here. Denver hasn't been Spanish for at least
several years.
